I have lost all faith in my convictions. When they created EZ Pass toll lanes, I vowed never to get an EZ Pass. I lasted almost 10 years, but the extended commute because of waiting on the human toll taker line eventually got to me. Convenience won out.
I voted close account immediately, however I think that is contingent on having an alternative. Of course I have bitcoin, but I am not in a situation where I can survive without fiat rails for many transactions.

They already have my name, address, paycheck, ... And my face from the ID copy. So really does not make a difference.
If usability becomes a pain, I would tend to use more banks that don't do it.
Not using banks at all is something I'm looking forward to even without face recognition. It's just not worth it yet (for my particular case).
If it doesn't make a difference, why would they do it?
In the EU? Because of some dumb regulation. Maybe intentionally evil or maybe just dumb.
