**Lord of Light and Life,** 
As we awaken to this new day, we raise our voices in gratitude for yet another opportunity to live under Your grace. You are our light and our salvation; whom shall we fear? You are the strength of our lives; of whom shall we be afraid? In You we find safety and refuge, for we know that no evil can separate us from Your love. 

We trust, O God, that even in the face of adversity and challenges, You sustain us. If storms arise, if obstacles try to divert us from our path, remind us that You are always by our side, guiding us with Your mighty hand. May we walk with faith and courage, for those who trust in You are never alone. 

Lord, teach us to dwell in Your presence every day of our lives. May we contemplate the beauty of Your creation and find in You the true purpose for our journeys.  Give us a heart that seeks peace, a spirit willing to learn, and hands ready to serve others with love and humility. 

When worries and uncertainties surround us, help us remember that Your protection is eternal. Strengthen our faith so that we do not allow ourselves to be overcome by fear or doubt. May we wait with patience and confidence, knowing that You will act at the right time, according to Your infinite wisdom and goodness. 

May this day be filled with Your peace, Lord. May our words be edifying, may our actions convey love, and may our thoughts be guided by hope. Illuminate our steps and direct our hearts toward all that is just and good. 

We trust in You, Lord, and we wait with faith in Your action. May we, each day, grow stronger in Your presence and renew our trust in Your unwavering love.

Beloved Creator of the Universe, as we begin this new day, we lift our hearts to You in humility and gratitude. Your love and kindness surround us at all times, and we seek Your guidance as we begin this new day. Grant us, O Lord, Your divine wisdom to guide our steps on the path of righteousness and truth. May we trust in You, as we trust in the rising sun each morning, knowing that You are our light and our salvation.

Lord, teach us Your ways and guide us in Your truth. Help us to discern between good and evil, and to act with justice and compassion in all our interactions. May every word we speak and every action we take reflect Your goodness and love for all beings.

 May Your mercy envelop us like a cloak, enabling us to forgive those who have hurt us and to seek reconciliation where there is division. Give us the humility to recognize our own weaknesses and the strength to overcome them with Your help.

Grant us, O God, the courage to face the challenges this day may bring, knowing that You are our refuge and strength. May our trust be firmly anchored in You, and may our faith propel us forward with determination and hope.

DOES GOD HEAR ALL PRAYERS?

It is a way of accepting what God gives us.

In other words, it means waiting for “God’s timing.”

## DOES GOD HEAR ALL PRAYERS? – How do I know if my prayers are heard and answered?

The Bible is clear in stating that God is attentive to the prayers of His children. In **1 John 5:14-15**, we read: *"This is the confidence that we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have what we asked of Him."* This verse assures us that God is always present, attentive and willing to listen to every supplication, every thanksgiving and every expression of worship that we offer to Him.

**How Do I Know if My Prayers Are Heard and Answered?**

1. **Trust in God's Promise:**

   First, we must trust in God's promises.  **Psalm 34:17** tells us, *“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them out of all their troubles.”* Trust comes from recognizing who God is and believing His promises.

2. **Alignment with God’s Will:**

Our prayers are heard and answered when they are aligned with God’s will. In **1 John 5:14**, we are told that if we ask according to God’s will, He will hear us. This does not mean that God will ignore our needs, but that He will answer according to what is best for us and His greater plan.

3. **Persistence in Prayer:**

Jesus taught us the importance of persistence in prayer. In **Luke 18:1**, He tells the parable of the widow who persisted until her request was answered. Persistence demonstrates our continued faith and trust in God, even when the answers are not immediate.

 4. **Personal Transformation:**

   Sometimes, the answers to our prayers may come in ways we don’t expect. **Romans 8:28** assures us, *“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”* God can use circumstances to shape us and prepare us for something greater, even if the answer isn’t what we imagined.

 5. **Inner Peace as Confirmation:**

Often, God gives us confirmation that our prayers have been heard through an inner peace that surpasses all understanding, as seen in **Philippians 4:6-7**: *"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."* This peace can be a sign that God is working in our lives according to His perfect will.

6. **Fellowship with the Community of Faith:**

Sharing our prayers with other believers can also bring encouragement and confirmation.  **James 5:16** instructs us: *“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The powerful and effective prayer of a righteous person is effective.”* Mutual intercession strengthens our faith and reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles.

**When the Answer Is Delayed or Different Than Expected:**

It’s natural to feel frustrated or doubtful when we don’t see immediate answers or when the answers seem different than we expected. In these moments, it’s crucial to remember that God has an eternal perspective and a perfect plan. **Isaiah 55:8-9** reminds us: *“‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’”*

These passages encourage us to trust in God’s wisdom and goodness, even when we don’t understand His actions.  Faith is often strengthened during these times of waiting, as we learn to depend more on God and recognize His sovereignty in every area of our lives.

**Conclusion:**

Yes, God hears all of our prayers. We can be assured that He is listening, answering in ways that reflect His perfect will and His infinite love for us. To know that our prayers are heard and answered, we must trust in God’s promises, align our wills with His, persist in prayer, seek inner peace, and maintain constant communion with the community of faith. Always remember that God is faithful and that He is working in every detail of our lives for our good and for His glory.

May God richly bless your prayer life, strengthening your faith and filling your heart with peace and hope.

Dear God, Creator of all things, as this new day begins, we come to You with gratitude and humility. We recognize the importance of being vigilant and prepared for the surprises that life has in store for us, as You taught us in Matthew 24:44. We ask for Your guidance and protection as we face the challenges that arise today.

Lord, help us to live with an awareness of our responsibility before You and before our neighbors. May we be a light in the world, practicing compassion, kindness, and love in all our interactions. Grant us wisdom to make decisions that honor Your name and promote peace and justice in our community.

 May this day be an opportunity for us to grow spiritually, seeking to be closer to You every step of the way. Help us to discern Your purposes in all circumstances and to act in accordance with Your sovereign will. 

Strengthen us, O God, to resist the temptations that distance us from You and to persevere in faith, even in the face of adversity. May our trust be firmly anchored in You, knowing that You are our refuge and our strength at all times. 

Guide us in Your paths of justice and truth, and grant us the humility to recognize our faults and seek forgiveness and reconciliation whenever necessary. 

May our lives be a living testimony of Your transforming love for the world. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Master, we pray.

Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”  In this verse, Jesus exhorts His followers to always be prepared for His return, both spiritually and practically. This means living a life of vigilance, integrity, and service, ready to meet Him at any moment. The passage reminds us of the importance of living according to the principles of God’s Kingdom at all times, for we do not know when He will return.

Divine Creator, source of all wisdom and love, we gather before You at this new dawn, seeking inspiration and guidance for the day ahead. 

May Your words, O Lord, resonate in our hearts as we remember the teaching of Jesus recorded in John 15:3. He told us, 'You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.'

In this time of reflection and communion, we ask that Your word purify and strengthen us, enabling us to face the challenges and blessings this day will bring. May it penetrate our thoughts, words, and actions, molding us into the image of Your grace and love.

Give us discernment to understand and apply the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives.  May we be instruments of peace, compassion, and kindness in the world around us, reflecting Your light in the midst of darkness. 


Strengthen us, O God, so that we may remain steadfast in faith, even in the face of adversity. Enable us to love and forgive as Jesus taught us, so that we may witness Your transforming love in our interactions with others.

May Your Word be for us a sharp blade, capable of penetrating our hearts and discerning the most intimate thoughts and intentions of our soul.

May every word we speak and every thought we entertain be subjected to the scrutiny of Your truth, O God.  May Your Word be our compass, guiding us along the paths of righteousness and justice. May it be our source of inspiration and encouragement in times of challenge and difficulty.

May the light of Your Word dispel the darkness of our doubts and uncertainties, illuminating the path ahead. May it be like a mirror, reflecting the image of Christ in our lives and transforming us into His likeness.

Strengthen us, O God, with Your Word, so that we may face each new day with courage and unshakable faith. Enable us to share the love and truth we find in Your Word with all those who cross our path.

May our lives be a living testimony to the transforming power of Your Word, O Lord. And may we look back at the fruits of Your Word in our lives at the end of each day, knowing that it never returns void, but always fulfills the purpose for which it was sent.

We cry out for Your protection and guidance, Lord, for we know that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil that seek to separate us from You. Grant us, O God, the spiritual armor we need to resist the attacks of the evil one.

 Strengthen us with the belt of truth, that we may discern between what is right and what is false. Clothe us with the breastplate of righteousness, that we may stand firm in Your ways. Shoe our feet with the readiness of the gospel of peace, that we may carry Your message of love and reconciliation everywhere.

Give us the shield of faith, that we may extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Place upon us the helmet of salvation, that we may have confidence in the hope we have in You. And hold in our hands the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, that we may proclaim Your truth with courage and authority.

Lord, may Your presence be our strength and refuge this day. Enable us to live according to Your principles, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to be light in the midst of darkness. May all our words, thoughts, and actions be inspired by Your wisdom and love.

Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that the Christian’s struggle is not merely against visible human adversaries, but also against evil spiritual powers and forces that operate behind the scenes. These evil spiritual powers seek to lead us astray from God’s path and away from His will. The passage emphasizes the importance of being spiritually prepared, putting on the armor of God, to resist these forces and stand firm in the faith.

## WHY ARE THERE SO MANY RELIGIONS? – If God is one, why are there different religious beliefs and practices?

Understanding why there are so many religions, even when we believe in one God, leads us to reflect on the diversity of humanity itself and the way God acts in different cultures, historical times and contexts. Over the millennia, people from different regions and cultures have sought to understand the meaning of life and the mystery of the divine. Although God is one, the expressions of search and understanding of Him reflect this cultural, historical and social diversity.

We can see religions as different paths that seek the same essential principle: connection with the sacred and the cultivation of values such as love, compassion and justice. Each religion is, in a certain sense, a human response to the revelations and signs of God in the life of a specific community. For example, the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) share a common vision of a single God, but each has developed specific practices and beliefs, influenced by their particular cultures and historical moments.

 Some religious teachings claim that God reveals himself to all people, but in different ways. This diversity can be seen as part of the divine plan, where each group and each culture has a share of truth, a specific vision of what is divine. Over time, these diverse religious views and practices have been influenced by historical events, geographies and cultural traditions that have shaped the characteristics of each religion. 

In addition, free will plays a fundamental role: God gave us the freedom to seek and understand. This search does not happen uniformly, and it is natural that different peoples have found different ways of expressing their faith. In many cases, these different religions share universal values, such as love for one's neighbor, the importance of peace and the desire to promote justice. 

In addition to cultural and historical diversity, another reason for the existence of several religions is the very complexity of human beings and the spiritual needs that vary from person to person.  Each religion has developed its own rituals, symbols, and teachings that meet these needs and reflect different aspects of the human condition: the desire to belong, the search for meaning, the need for solace, and the yearning for connection with something greater.

God, in His wisdom, allows this variety of spiritual paths so that everyone can find a way to approach the sacred according to their dispositions and understanding. In many traditions, it is believed that God’s love is so vast and inclusive that He is not limited to a single form of revelation or a single religion. Many wise men and spiritual leaders from different religions have taught that, although the paths are different, the final destination is the same: union with the divine and the experience of high values such as love, compassion and peace.

This vision that the multiplicity of religions can coexist in harmony invites us to see interreligious dialogue not as a threat to individual faith, but as an opportunity for mutual growth. When we look at other religions with respect and openness, we recognize that, despite doctrinal differences, each tradition carries unique wisdom and a precious contribution to the spiritual experience. This understanding helps us to overcome prejudice and brings us closer to an ideal of universal brotherhood.

 Thus, we can see religious plurality as a reflection of God’s love, which respects the freedom of each people and each individual in their search for Him. If we cultivate an attitude of openness and humility, we can learn from one another, see the divine from new perspectives, and expand our own spiritual understanding. Ultimately, the existence of so many religions can teach us that, although we are many, we are all part of the same humanity, called to live in peace and to seek the common good.

For those who see God as the source of all creation, this spiritual diversity also reflects the beauty and richness of divine creation. Just as each culture and each heart are unique, so too are the paths that lead to the divine. And, even in the face of our differences, we are invited to recognize each other as brothers and sisters in the search for a greater purpose and a deeper relationship with the sacred.

Finally, religious diversity can be seen as a richness, an invitation to dialogue and mutual respect. If each religion brings with it the sincere search for God and to live in accordance with the good, perhaps we can recognize that each has something to contribute to the spiritual understanding of humanity.  Thus, multiplicity of beliefs is not a sign of division, but rather a way of revealing the multifaceted character of divine truth, which is greater and deeper than any human vision can fully capture.

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY RELIGIONS?

## If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 

2 Chronicles 7:14

O God, Creator of the Universe, Source of all wisdom and love, we gather before You on this new day with humble and hopeful hearts. As You teach us in 2 Chronicles 7:14, we recognize the importance of humility, prayer, and seeking Your face.

Forgive us, Lord, for our transgressions, our failures, and sometimes for going our own way. We ask for Your mercy upon us and upon our community, granting us the grace to return to You in sincere repentance.

 Grant us the humility to acknowledge our dependence on You in every area of our lives. May we take time for prayer and reflection, seeking Your guidance in every decision we make.

May Your love and justice guide our actions this day, so that we may be instruments of peace, kindness, and compassion in the world around us. Enable us to be lights that shine in the midst of darkness, inspiring others to seek Your face and live according to Your principles of love and justice.

Grant us the wisdom to discern what is right and good in every situation, and the courage to act in accordance with Your will, even when it is difficult.

May this prayer be a starting point for a day of communion with You and service to others, as You have taught us through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Dear God, Creator of all things, we come to You this new day with gratitude in our hearts. We recognize the importance of wisdom in our lives and the influence our words have on others. We ask, Lord, that You grant us discernment and control over our thoughts and words, so that we can bring joy and peace to those around us.

Help us, O God, to be like wise children who bring joy to our spiritual and earthly parents. May our actions and words be a reflection of Your wisdom and love, guiding us to choices that glorify Your name.

Forgive us, Lord, for all the times we act impulsively or speak without thinking, causing hurt and sadness to others.  Enable us to be instruments of peace and reconciliation in all our interactions, with friends and strangers alike.

May every word we speak today be seasoned with kindness and compassion, reflecting Your love for each of us. Strengthen us, O God, to resist the temptation to respond with anger or impatience, and grant us the grace to be peacemakers in a world often marked by discord and conflict.

Guide us through this day, O Lord, and may our lives be a living testimony to Your wisdom and love. In Your precious name, we pray.

PRAYER OF THE DAY - Proverbs 29:11

## WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF MY LIFE ACCORDING TO GOD? – Why did God create us and what is the meaning of our existence?

I want to share with you what I believe to be a profound and scriptural answer about the purpose of our life according to God. In many passages of the Bible, we see that God created human beings with a special and eternal purpose, which is revealed mainly in three aspects: to glorify God, to relate to Him and to serve others. I will explain each of these points in more detail.

**1. We were created to glorify God**

In the book of Isaiah 43:7, God says: “Everyone who is called by my name, I created him for my glory, I formed him and made him.” This shows us that we were created to reflect the greatness and goodness of God. He gave us talents, gifts and a creative nature that, when used with love and humility, show the world His character.  Glorifying God means recognizing His worth, living in obedience to His teachings, and bearing witness to His love through our actions.

**2. We were created to have a relationship with God**

God created us in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:27) and placed within us a deep desire to connect with Him. In Eden, before the fall, Adam and Eve lived in direct communion with God, which gives us an image of how He desires this relationship. Jesus, by reconciling us with the Father, opens up the possibility of this relationship to us again. In John 15:15, Jesus says, “No longer do I call you servants... Instead, I have called you friends.” The meaning of our existence is to find this intimacy with the Creator, to seek to know Him, and to walk alongside Him.

**3. We were called to serve others**

Another central aspect of our purpose is love for others, which Jesus summarized as the second greatest commandment, after loving God (Matthew 22:39).  God calls us to live a life of service, because by serving others, we are living as Jesus lived. This means putting our gifts and talents at the service of the well-being and joy of others, and being a blessing to the world around us.

**Why did God create us?**

The creation of human beings is an act of love. God is complete in Himself, but He chose to create beings in His image to share His goodness, love, and truth. In 1 John 4:16, we read that “God is love,” and love, by its very nature, desires to be shared. So God created us so that we could share in that love and experience the joy of a relationship with Him and with one another.

**What is the meaning of our existence?**

Our lives are an invitation to experience the beauty and fullness of God’s love and, through our relationships with Him and with others, make a difference in the world. This does not mean that we are free from problems, but that we find hope, purpose, and comfort in knowing that we are part of something much greater.

**4. Live in a way that reflects the character of Christ**

In Romans 8:29, the Bible teaches us that God predestined us to be conformed to the image of His Son. This means that an important part of our purpose is to become more like Jesus. When we strive to imitate the character of Christ—loving generously, forgiving freely, and serving humbly—we fulfill a profound purpose. This transformation process, called sanctification, is a journey in which the Holy Spirit works within us, shaping our character so that we reflect Christ in our actions, attitudes, and thoughts.

**5. Participate in the work of reconciliation**

Another essential aspect of God’s purpose for our lives is the mission of reconciliation, as described in 2 Corinthians 5:18-20. Through Christ, God has reconciled us to Himself and given us the ministry of reconciliation, calling us to share the message of His love and forgiveness with the world.  As ambassadors for Christ, our purpose is to bring hope to those who do not yet know Him, helping them find peace and meaning in their lives. This mission calls us to live intentionally, not just for ourselves, but to impact the lives of others.

**6. Appreciate God’s Creation and Cultivate Gratitude**

The Bible speaks of God’s love for His creation and how it reveals His power and beauty (Psalm 19:1). Part of our purpose for existence is to develop a heart of gratitude and learn to appreciate the world around us, from the people to the nature to the experiences we have. When we cultivate gratitude, we live closer to God and see life with a renewed perspective. Gratitude connects us to God’s purpose, as we recognize that everything we have and are is a gift from Him.

**7. Live with eternity in mind**

Ultimately, God created us for an eternal purpose, and this gives our lives a dimension that goes beyond the here and now.  In Colossians 3:2, Paul instructs us to keep our eyes on things above, reminding us that our true home is in the presence of God, beyond this life. This eternal perspective helps us live with a deeper purpose, understanding that the choices we make today have an impact that extends into eternity. 

When we live with eternity in mind, we find motivation to face life’s challenges, knowing that there is a hope and a reward that God has in store for us. Our existence here on earth is fleeting, but it is a precious time where we have the opportunity to grow, learn, love, and prepare for an eternity with Him.

In summary, our God-given purpose in life involves an ongoing journey of knowledge and transformation, in which we relate to Him, serve others, and become more like Christ. It is a life that calls us beyond our individual desires to a much greater love and purpose.  Even in times of pain or uncertainty, we can trust that God has a plan for each of us, and that living that plan brings true peace, purpose, and joy.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF MY LIFE ACCORDING TO GOD?

## HOW CAN I KNOW IF GOD REALLY EXISTS? – Is there any evidence or concrete way to know that God is real?

Many people wonder about the existence of God, especially in times of doubt or difficulty. The search for an answer involves both the mind and the heart, because our relationship with God is not only about what we can see and touch, but also about what we feel and experience in our lives.

First, we can consider the testimony of creation. In the Bible, Romans 1:20 reminds us: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.” When we observe the complexity and beauty of nature—the cycle of life, the galaxies in the universe, the balance of ecosystems—we realize that there is an order and purpose that indicate a higher intelligence. For many, the very grandeur of the universe is a sign of the existence of a Creator, because it is difficult to conceive that all this order arose by chance.

 In addition, there is the inner witness, what we call spiritual experience. At many times in life, people feel a presence, peace, or comfort that they cannot explain. In the Christian faith, we believe that this is the action of the Holy Spirit, who works in our hearts to reveal the reality of God. In John 14:26, Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would be with us to teach and remember all His words. When someone experiences this spiritual touch, they come to know God in a personal and profound way. 

The story and resurrection of Jesus Christ also provide a concrete basis for faith. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus were recorded by eyewitnesses, and the events described profoundly transformed those who witnessed them. The apostles were willing to give their lives for this truth, and millions throughout the centuries have been impacted by this testimony. If Jesus really was resurrected, this is powerful evidence that God is real, for only a divine power could conquer death. 

For many, the search for God is a process that takes time, patience, and sincerity.  It can start with a desire to know more, a simple prayer, or even a question. The Bible encourages us not to fear these questions, because God knows our hearts and the questions we carry. He does not condemn us for them, but rather invites us to approach Him with honesty.

Creation, the inner witness, the life of Jesus, and the personal experience of faith are not just theoretical concepts; they become real in the lives of many people who experience God’s presence in moments of pain, joy, forgiveness, and renewal. God reveals Himself uniquely to each person, and He wants to reveal Himself to you too. In James 4:8, we are reminded, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” This is a promise that God makes and fulfills in our lives.

I encourage you to seek this closeness sincerely. Try to set aside a few moments to reflect, to pray, to read a little of the Bible – even if it is just a small passage. Ask God to reveal His presence clearly. Often, He answers us through the peace we feel, guidance in a difficult decision, or renewed meaning in our lives. 

In addition, surrounding yourself with people who share this faith can also help. Often, hearing the testimonies of others, knowing how they have experienced God’s presence, can help us strengthen our own walk. The Christian community is a source of support, love and learning, where we can share our doubts and be strengthened in faith. 

It is important to remember that faith is also a step beyond reason. Hebrews 11:1 teaches us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” At some point, we are all called to take this step, trusting that God is real and that He reveals Himself to those who sincerely seek Him. 

 God’s existence is perceived by creation, experienced in the heart, confirmed by the story of Jesus, and lived by faith. Together, these aspects form a foundation that is not “proof” in the scientific sense, but is deeply concrete in the spiritual and personal sense. The Bible encourages us to seek God and, as Jeremiah 29:13 promises us, “You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.” In short, finding God is an experience that is built on faith, sincere seeking, and openness to hearing His voice. He has given us signs around us and within us. Life with God is an ongoing journey, full of discoveries and moments in which we feel His presence in a unique and true way. If you open your heart and seek sincerely, He promises that you will be found. This is the truth that millions of Christians throughout the centuries have experienced and witnessed.

HOW CAN I KNOW IF GOD REALLY EXISTS?

## WHY DOES GOD ALLOW SUFFERING? – If God is loving and powerful, why is there pain and injustice in the world?

This is one of the most profound and challenging questions we face in the Christian faith. First, we need to remember that suffering is a universal reality, and at some point, we all go through periods of pain, loss, and questioning. And while the answers are not always easy, we find guidance in the Bible and in the very character of God.

**1. Creation and Free Will**

God created the world in a perfect way, but he also gave human beings free will, the ability to choose. In Genesis, we see that God gave Adam and Eve the freedom to decide. With this freedom also came the possibility of choices that deviate from God’s purpose and will. Sin, introduced through disobedience, brought consequences to the world—and suffering is one of those consequences.

 Free will is a gift that allows us to be moral and responsible beings, but it also means that evil can enter the world. Ultimately, the pain and suffering we see around us does not come from God, but from human choices and a world that still suffers from the effects of sin.

**2. Suffering as Part of a Fallen World**

Romans 8:22 says that “the whole creation groans as in labor pains.” This means that we live in a fallen world where sin affects everything around us, not only human relationships but also nature. Natural disasters, disease, injustice, famine, and war are reflections of a world that is far from its original perfection. These sufferings remind us that we are in a creation that has not yet been completely redeemed, and as Christians, we look forward to the day when God will restore all things.

**3. God’s Presence in Suffering**

Although God allows suffering, He never abandons us in the midst of it.  In Psalm 34:18, we read that “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” God is not a distant observer; He walks with us through our pain and hardships. In Jesus Christ, we see God Himself entering into human suffering. He suffered and experienced rejection, pain, and even death on the cross. In this way, God is not indifferent to our suffering, but is right there with us, sharing our pain and offering comfort.

**4. Suffering Can Shape Character and Faith**

James 1:2-4 encourages us to view suffering as an opportunity to grow in perseverance and maturity. Trials often help us develop virtues such as patience, compassion, and faith. Suffering can make us reflect, drawing us closer to God and our own humanity. God can use pain to transform us, molding us into more Christlike beings and drawing us closer to Him.

**5.  The Hope of Ultimate Redemption**

As Christians, we know that suffering will not have the final word. In Revelation 21:4, God promises to wipe away every tear and end pain and death. We live in hope of a new creation where there will be no more mourning, crying, or pain. This is the future God has prepared for us. The suffering we experience now is temporary, and while difficult, it is part of the journey that prepares us for something much greater and more glorious.

To delve even deeper, it is important to remember that suffering, though difficult and often incomprehensible, can be transformed into a channel of blessing and spiritual growth. The Bible teaches us that in the midst of pain, we are called to trust God more deeply and to strengthen our faith.

**6. Community as a Source of Support**

God also calls us to live in community, and one reason is that community can be a great support in times of suffering. In Galatians 6:2, Paul writes, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” This means that we are not alone in bearing our pain. God uses other people to bring comfort, guidance, and encouragement. The church is called to be a place where people can find support in difficult times, strengthening one another in faith and hope.

**7. God Redeems and Brings Beauty Out of Pain**

God has the power to transform the most painful situations into something beautiful.  In Romans 8:28, we read, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This means that while not everything that happens is good, God is able to use even suffering to bring about something positive and to accomplish his purposes. He can use pain to open doors of healing, to bring new opportunities, and even to draw those who are far from him closer. God is an expert at transforming what seems hopeless into something that reflects his grace and goodness.

**8. Suffering as a Witness to Christian Faith**

When we endure trials and remain faithful, we show the world the depth of our trust in God. In times of pain, our faith can become a powerful witness. The way we respond to suffering can inspire others and lead them to seek God. In the early centuries of the church, many Christians suffered persecution, but their steadfastness and joy in the midst of pain led others to Christ.  Today, our faith in suffering can still be a beacon for those who look on and wonder where we get our hope.

**9. An Eternal Perspective**

One of the greatest challenges of suffering is that in the midst of the pain, it can seem endless. But faith offers us an eternal perspective. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, “For our light afflictions, which are but for a moment, are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” This reminds us that although suffering is real, it is temporary, and there is an eternal glory awaiting us.

**10. An Invitation to Dependence on God**

Ultimately, suffering reminds us of our limitations and our need for God. It invites us to abandon any self-sufficiency and surrender ourselves completely to His care and will.  It is in the wilderness that we often hear God’s voice most clearly and perceive His presence, because we are vulnerable and open to seeking the true comfort and peace that only He can offer.

**Closing**

Even though suffering remains a mystery, we know that it is not beyond God’s control and that He is always with us. God promises us that no matter what we face, He will be by our side, sustaining us and using all things for the good of those who love Him. So, by trusting in Him, we find strength to persevere, peace for our hearts and hope that one day all pain will be overcome.

Suffering reminds us that this world is not our final home and points us to an eternal hope in Christ. Although we do not have all the answers, we know that we can trust in a God who is faithful and who will one day redeem all creation. Our task is to keep faith, seek comfort in Him and let Him work in our lives, even in the most difficult circumstances.

**PRAYER OF THE DAY - Proverbs 15:1**

O God, source of all wisdom and love, on this new day we turn to You in humility and gratitude. May our words and actions reflect Your wisdom and love, following the teaching of Proverbs 15:1, which tells us that a soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Grant us, Lord, the grace to respond with kindness and compassion, even in the most challenging situations. May we be instruments of peace and reconciliation, always choosing words that build up and soothe rather than those that cause division and anguish.

Help us to cultivate patience and empathy in our relationships, always remembering the transformative power of love.  May our interactions with others be marked by kindness and mutual respect, no matter what circumstances we face.

Strengthen us, O God, to resist the temptation to respond with anger or hostility. Enable us to see beyond harsh words and to understand the needs and feelings of those around us. May we be instruments of healing and reconciliation in a world that so desperately needs your love.

May this new day be an opportunity to live according to your teachings, radiating the light of your love in every word we speak and every action we take. May your grace accompany and strengthen us at all times, guiding us on the path of peace and justice.

## Who is God? – What is the nature of God and how can we understand Him?

God, as revealed in the Bible, is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, the One who brought the universe into existence and maintains every detail of creation. He is sovereign, perfect, and eternal, without beginning or end, and the Bible shows us that He is omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipresent (everywhere). God is not an impersonal force, but a personal being, capable of loving, judging, forgiving, and relating to each of us. In His essence, He is love, holiness, justice, and mercy.

In John 4:24, we learn that “God is spirit” and therefore not limited to the physical world. He is beyond our human comprehension, yet He has chosen to reveal Himself to us so that we can know Him. This revelation happens in two ways: through creation and through the Bible.  When we observe the beauty, complexity, and order of nature, we can see a reflection of God’s wisdom and power. Through Scripture, we gain deeper and more specific knowledge about who He is and His plan for humanity.

Even more impressive is that God has revealed Himself to us personally through Jesus Christ. According to Hebrews 1:3, Jesus is “the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being.” In Jesus, we have the visible image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15), and we can better understand God’s love and mercy because He became a man, lived among us, and gave His life to save us.

Even with these revelations, we must recognize that the nature of God remains a mystery in many ways. After all, our human minds are limited and cannot fully comprehend such a great being. As Isaiah 55:8-9 states, God’s thoughts are beyond our thoughts, and His ways are higher than our ways.  However, God Himself calls us to seek to know Him more deeply, as He declares in Jeremiah 29:13: “You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.”

So, although we cannot fully understand the divine nature, God wants to reveal Himself to us, especially in the relationship we build with Him in faith. As we seek Him, pray, read His Word, and trust in His promises, we grow in our understanding of who He is and in our ability to live according to His will. The ultimate goal of our existence is precisely this relationship with God, to know Him, worship Him, and experience His love, which is infinite and transforming.

So, who is God? He is the Creator, the Redeemer, and the Comforter. He is the Father who loves us deeply and calls us to a true relationship with Him. He is the Lord of history and the One who gives us purpose and hope, and although we cannot fully understand Him, we can know Him personally and live in communion with Him.

As we continue to seek to understand who God is, we realize that this journey will never be fully completed on this side of eternity. God is infinite, and there is always more of Him to know. This is one of the beauties of faith: we can spend a lifetime deepening our relationship with God, learning about His character and His promises, and yet there will always be new aspects of His nature revealed to us.

One of the most profound ways to know God is through prayer. Prayer connects us directly with Him and opens our hearts to hear His voice and feel His presence. In James 4:8, we are encouraged to “draw near to God, and He will draw near to us.” God is not a distant, unapproachable being; He is near, waiting for us to seek Him. In prayer, we can pour out our hearts, give thanks, ask for guidance, and simply be in His presence, and He responds with His peace, comfort, and guidance.

Another important aspect is that God manifests Himself in three persons, known as the Trinity: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit.  This is one of the greatest revelations about the nature of God, because it shows us that He is a God of relationship and communion. The Father is the Creator and Sustainer, Jesus is the Son who came to save us, and the Holy Spirit is the One who dwells within us, guiding us and strengthening our faith. This unity in diversity within the divine nature itself is a mystery, but it reveals that God is a God who loves and values relationships, and that He desires us to live in love and unity with one another.

It is also important to remember that God is immutable, that is, He never changes. In Malachi 3:6, God says, “I, the Lord, do not change.” His promises, His character, His love for us remain steadfast. This is a powerful truth, because it gives us the assurance that in a world full of change and uncertainty, we have in God a safe refuge, someone we can trust completely.

 Finally, God is a God who desires our salvation and reconciliation with Him. In John 3:16, we see that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” This verse centers the whole nature of God on love and grace. He created us to be in fellowship with Him, and even when we choose sin and turn away, He has provided a way to reconcile us through Jesus Christ.

Therefore, the essence of God is love, justice, holiness, and truth, but He invites us to know Him and live that love in practical ways in our lives. God calls us to a relationship that transforms, heals, and brings peace to our hearts. He is the God who created the universe, but He is also the God who knows each of us individually, knows our pains and joys, and walks with us in every moment. May we seek to know Him more each day and live in the fullness of His grace and goodness.

**EVENING PRAYER - Luke 4:18**

Lord, Father of love and compassion, here we are at the end of another day, seeking Your presence, Your peace and Your guidance. We are grateful for Your care, which sustains and guides us, and for the blessings that You pour out on our lives, even in the face of difficulties. We ask that You help us to renew our strength and find rest in You, confident that Your love surrounds and strengthens us.

You sent Your Spirit to comfort the afflicted and free the oppressed. Just as Jesus announced in Your word, may we also be instruments of peace and justice, bringing comfort to those who suffer, relief to the weary, and hope to those who have lost faith.  Inspire us to act with compassion and courage, following the example of Jesus, who came to be a light in the midst of darkness and to bring freedom to those who are imprisoned.

As this day comes to a close, we place into Your hands the worries that weigh us down and the pains we carry. We ask that You lighten our burdens and transform our afflictions into confidence and serenity. May Your Holy Spirit envelop us, dispelling our fears and renewing our hope, so that we may rest in peace, trusting in Your watchful care.

May we, with each new dawn, be living witnesses of Your love and bearers of Your peace. Teach us to see the world with eyes of compassion, to hear the cries of those in need, and to serve with generosity and humility. May our lives be a response to Your call, and may we proclaim Your love to all we meet.

In the Gospel of Luke 4:18, Jesus refers to a prophecy of Isaiah that is fulfilled in his own mission.
