A fool reveals all his thoughts, but a wise man keeps them to the end.
Proverbs 29:11
PRAYER OF THE DAY - Proverbs 29:11
Dear God, Creator of all things, we come to You this new day with gratitude in our hearts. We recognize the importance of wisdom in our lives and the influence our words have on others. We ask, Lord, that You grant us discernment and control over our thoughts and words, so that we can bring joy and peace to those around us.
Help us, O God, to be like wise children who bring joy to our spiritual and earthly parents. May our actions and words be a reflection of Your wisdom and love, guiding us to choices that glorify Your name.
Forgive us, Lord, for all the times we act impulsively or speak without thinking, causing hurt and sadness to others. Enable us to be instruments of peace and reconciliation in all our interactions, with friends and strangers alike.
May every word we speak today be seasoned with kindness and compassion, reflecting Your love for each of us. Strengthen us, O God, to resist the temptation to respond with anger or impatience, and grant us the grace to be peacemakers in a world often marked by discord and conflict.
Guide us through this day, O Lord, and may our lives be a living testimony to Your wisdom and love. In Your precious name, we pray.
Amen.
The passage from Proverbs 29:11 teaches us about the importance of controlling our words and the influence they have on others. It contrasts the consequences of the words of the wise, which bring joy to fathers, with the words of fools, which bring grief to mothers. This passage reminds us of the need to be conscious of how we speak and act, always seeking to promote peace and harmony in our interactions with others.
