Getting the details right is a core quality of Bitcoiners!
Don't be sorry about getting the details right! I'd rather know the truth than assume something incorrectly as the truth.
No problem.
Yea it was general consensus that he will be the next maintainer, to make it official he needs to add his PGP keys to the maintainer list on GitHub.
From what I understand it is up to the current maintainers to add a new maintainer and they were on the IRC meeting or were consulted prior.
But it is technically not official till his keys are added. Similar to an elected official taking the oath.
The post you're linking to is a post written by me.
TheCharlatan aka sedited was nominated and selected yesterday via the bitcoin dev weekly IRC meeting.
It feels like there is a lot of negativity around this acquisition, but I feel like Netflix will do well with Warner Bros, and overall it will be bullish for Netflix.
It seems that companies in the past have had issues generating a profit from Warner Bros., but I feel that Netflix is the company that can make it work.
In your opinion what is a mission critical problem that you would like to see addressed with or without an op code?
Ik you mentioned utxo ownership as one of your concerns before.
Do you think there is any soft fork currently that would be worth while or worth exploring or are you pro ossification?
In this post, you just mention that OP_CTV will be used for Ethereum like contracts, but you don't specify why that doesn't makes Bitcoin not used as money and instead for centralized applications.
Vaults, Congestion control, and efficient DLC's can be done in a self-custodial manner, which is enabled by OP_CTV, so I'm confused where that generalization is coming from. There may be SOME applications that are centralized but without OP_CTV, they WILL be built in a centralized manner because they cannot build it any other way.
Care to explain?
