I'm all for Big Tech not ruling our lives, but I think it's naïve to think state-funded tech and open-source projects will magically create an online utopia in an otherwise capitalist society.
Tech is just innovation. We've reached a plateau with the internet in recent years, so we're seeing the disruption of old become the corruption of today. We'll see a cycle of disintegration and reintegration.
What we need is a digital bill of rights or tech that allows us to claim those rights for ourselves.
This is fantastic. I'm working on a novel set in the late 90s/early 00s, and this is a great way to get accustomed to that vibe.
Lifelong Panthers fan here. I wish there was such a thing as franchise bankruptcy. We would declare it.
I have never seen a team go into such significant draft capital and talent debt over a long period of time. Just desperate move after desperate move deeper and deeper into the hole. It's not just missing on draft picks. It's trading those away for short-term fixes, giving them a season to pan out, dumping them on the side of the road, just to try again. Meanwhile, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield are balling out in other places.
We've refused to take our medicine for five years, and we have absolutely nothing to show for it. Add it all up and we've tried to replace the most athletic quarterback of all time (Cam) with the least athletic quarterback of all time (Bryce). Make it make sense.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we traded our mascot Sir Purr's costume and the naming rights to our stadium for a lukewarm bowl of macaroni and cheese. This team is going to be bad for a long, long time. We are fucked on a generational level.
Yes. I think the best way to combat it is to not act like John McAfee or whatever crazy image they have in their minds. Be calm and reasonable but firm. That's enough to fuck with their heads.
The announcement of Apple Intelligence was the final straw that made me jump on Graphene.
I don't care how nice it is. I don't trust AI on something as all-encompassing as a phone.
Most people don't need to work in bitcoin.
The actual viable bitcoin industry is microscopic and much of it has been commodotized. You have mining, hardware, exchanges, and custody. That's it. Pretty much everything else is a gimmick or some deep tech L2 of unknown future.
Open source tech and huge profit margins don't exactly go together. The community doesn't tolerate rent-seeking and many companies in the space are unstable.
Unless you absolutely gotta do it or you're a technical wizard, you're likelier better off earning steady cash flow in the fiat mines
37-3 Saints on my Panthers so far.
Fuck yeah. We got 'em right where we want 'em. What is dead can never die!
This is wishful thinking. No one willing to come this far only comes this far. Here's a good quote on the subject:
"Presidential ambition is a disease which can only be cured by embalming fluid.”
