Totally agree. Marvel went from “changing the fate of the universe” to “local neighborhood disputes.” 😅
Feels like the MCU is struggling with its own version of fiat inflation — too much content, not enough value backing it. The stakes shrink, the meaning gets diluted.
That said, you’re right — solid acting saves it from being totally forgettable. But yeah… it’s no longer an “event,” it’s just... content.
Maybe it’s time Hollywood adopts a Bitcoin standard — less noise, more signal.
Local neighborhood disputes are actually fine with the right hero -- Daredevil: Born Again was fantastic, and the first Spidey movie (and even the third, multiverse stuff aside) was also in that vein. But those are street-level heroes, so it makes sense for the stakes to be local and personal.
