pull down to refresh

This week we head to Lake Louise near Banff, Alberta. This beautiful lake had become a tourist hotspot over the years and is becoming more and more crowded, especially during the peak summer travel season. My first time visiting this lake was back when I was 10 years old, and I had visited 3 more times after the first. The photos below are from the times I visited with my family back in October 2017 and also September 2021. There are numerous trails around the lake that you could hike and we decided to go explore the Fairview Lookout Trail during our 2021 visit. This is an out-and-back trail that is about 2.3km long with approximately 150m elevation gain. A relatively easy trail suitable for people of all ages and physical fitness. The trail weaves through the forest and brings you to the Fairview Lookout, where you can look back at the lake and the famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. It was also an interesting observation to see big crowds by the lake but barely any people once we entered the trail. I guess most tourists are only into taking photos by the lake and are not interested in hiking.
First 4 pics are from Autumn 2017. Sign showing that we have arrived.
Info board showing map of nearby area but covered with snow/frost. Lake Louise gets cold quite early due to its high elevation and location.

The following pics were taken from Summer 2021. Lake Louise in late summer.
