The Commitment
view on youtu.bethis is it. Society rejects commitment because it embraces fear, mistrust and optionality.
Thank you for the zap sir!
Thank you for your wisdom.

I think marriage is a necessary institution for us as humans. It's not just a social contract, but a path towards spiritual growth. It's a way to progress on the path of self-realization and ultimately achieve liberation (Moksha, *something that I learnt being a Hindu by birth).
In Hinduism, a man is considered incomplete without a wife, and a wife complements him in his journey towards Dharma, Artha (wealth), Kama (desire), and Moksha (the liberation from the bondage of life and death).
I lean more towards this reflection.
since I do not think that these important things for us as people should be governed by religion or by society.
finally a wise sage speaks. Do you have any specific passages that make reference to this in hindu literature that you might recommend I read?
separately - please take all my sats.
It’s the hardest thing most of us will ever do and thus the ultimate puzzle. It’s possible, that since human marriage is a reflection of divine marriage, that subjecting ourselves to its fire and learning to navigate wedlock helps estranged divinity itself unite, thus ameliorating what could be the fundamental existential problem. Beyond that, marriage could be said to be the process of alchemical transmutation. the fire and pressure of longterm commitment being the chamber in which base humanity is transformed into something nobler. Finally, marriage and the household as the bedrock unit of social order. Lots of data showing children from two-parent households have better educational outcomes, lower rates of addiction and arrest, all of which place massive strain of social systems individually and in the aggregate. So, stable married household as a meaningful way to contribute to a stable prosperous
society.
Marriage is the ultimate long-term skin-in-the-game contract. It’s two people voluntarily choosing to build something bigger than themselves—family, legacy, stability. In a world obsessed with optionality and exit strategies, marriage is a radical commitment to growth, forgiveness, and shared purpose. It’s not about perfection—it’s about choosing each other, over and over, through the chaos of life.
It is up to the vision of marriage, I explain myself:
Depending on what your approach and your partner will result in a great adventure or martyrdom that will end badly and in trouble.
to lost all your money ;-)
many such cases but easily addressed. solve for this with separate accounts + assets + marrying a non bimbo with their own money.
This sounds like a business project)
It is for people who view marriage as a business project. I view it as a spiritual/divine project.
Any relationship is like a business. It's better to understand this quickly, so that if you do get "fired" later, it won't be such a shock)
It is a beautiful thing to state your feelings of commitment to one another in front of ones family and friends.... the rest of it can go bugger off.
You get to have a permanent threesome since the state is now involved in your relationship
lol you've been having a three-some with the state by virtue of being born a citizen.
state's relationship with a child is more Epstein-esque than a 3some
the bachelor party
Tax deduction! Ahah
Best argument: It's lindy
The family unit establishes a foundation for the future of humanity, enabling you to contribute to a thriving legacy for generations yet to come, even if you may not witness the outcome firsthand. Simple
Amazing
Stability
Bitcoin is the hardest money; marriage is the hardest bind.
Go for hard, I guess...?
you will never get bored
Your SO.
If you disagree, there's your answer.
I think marriage is just a step to the kids, so if you don’t plan to have them maybe current „partnership“ is just as good as marriage.
Only makes sense if you emigrate to a country that requires a visa and want to bring your girlfriend with you. Or maybe if you both expect a baby and want it to be properly documented. Otherwise, just a useless bureaucracy.
the useless bureacracy is clear. But the intent behind marriage in its purest form is real. It is the highest form of commitment you can show to someone today.
Sure, but don't forget the prenup!
Easy - esp for two people with their own money. I wish we could take money out of marriage equation completely.
