I think I'd like to do the blacksmith thing. It would definitely be hard work, but I think I'd enjoy it.

Eunuchs were really a thing - what terrible luck does that take, being destined for that....

I'd like to think I could have been a bard, because I'm wordsy and slightly musical by nature, but I'd probably end up a peasant.

I like how you reality-checked yourself lol

I think I'd make a fair Eunuch

Wandering minstrel.

I'm much better suited to smacking things with a hammer than any real artistic talent, but that would be pretty cool.

reply

"job," lol.

60%+ of peeps were farmers, with about zero choice of occupation. Add some clergy and military men and the overwhelming chances are that you, when plopped into medieval times, spend your days doing uninspiring tasks... until you die, prematurely.

So, not much has changed eh?

So what would you like you're medieval job to be? You didn't answer.

I read this exchange as if it was a skit by Monty Python

The most accurate commentary from afar. However, to be fair, the question was which one you would like to be and not what it would be. Best work would be counselor.

medieval times as portrayed in state-sponsored textbooks may have never existed; i am not sure what's up with all the metal armor - it may have been manufactured as a prop in order to confuse the people; consider how the Hollywood armor can be indistinguishable from the "real medieval armor;"

with that disclaimer, i would probably be the healer, who sometimes travels by griffon to the location of emergency

reply

i'd be a traveling snake oil salesman, grifting my way through the land like ye olde sam bankman

Can't say exactly, I've been reading about English medieval culture way too much recently.
I think I should choose to be the priest somewhere on a Scottish moor.

Artist or shit shoveler

first son of a very wealthy Lord.. then I would play with prisms and write about calculating slope along curves

A work from home Online job would be a better option for me.
