Tariffs on other nations have been postponed, though.
What I'm saying is that the surge in American imports diverted goods to America from wherever they normally go and those imports would normally have included more goods from China. The Chinese exports you're talking about may have replaced the goods that went to America.
Example: Americans buy clothes from Mexico instead of China. Normally, the EU would have bought those Mexican clothes, but they buy the Chinese clothes that are now available.
Well this definitely makes sense. I've also seen surge in trade activity between India and China in the last few months. Maybe that's also caused it.
