I’ve been wanting a place to chat, rant, vent, etc. so let’s talk about the games tonight.

@grayruby I hope it’s ok for me to make this post and steal your thunder

Anyone watching?
Anyone got any sats on the line?

How are we feeling about those "Yes 'Cers" shirts? Really dumb or literally the worst?

reply

Dumb but I like them better than the cream city shirts the bucks had on.

I know @Aardvark invented milk and all and he is from the region but who calls their city “cream city”.

reply

I hadn't noticed those yet, but I agree that they're even worse. And, the answer is nobody calls it Cream City.

reply

Nobody calls it cream city, but there's a ton of businesses called "cream city x." Like my wife (who knits) sometimes shops at "cream city yarn." So while nobody calls it that, it's not a particularly odd shirt.

reply

I moved to rename it “have milk city”

reply

My god, cream city? Really?

That’s certainly… something

If you've heard the nickname Cream City thrown around for Milwaukee, you might be surprised to know it isn't in honor of Wisconsin's many dairy products — or beers. It's actually a homage to the light-colored, yellowish bricks — dubbed cream city bricks — that make up countless buildings throughout the city.

reply

The Miwuakeeites I’ve known never shut up about Milwaukee and not once did they mention this nickname.

reply

They’re definitely terrible

reply

Great idea!

I didn't realize the first game already started. I'll tune in soon.

reply
reply

@siggy47, how much can we get from a frivolous lawsuit over this?

reply

Just enough to pay my fee

reply

Free wizards season tickets

reply

Gross, no thanks.

reply

Yea it’s early tonight. Need to make room for all 4 I guess

reply

I don't think they usually schedule four games on a weekday.

reply

I also thought it was reserved for weekends

reply

Brunson starting to come alive in the 3rd

Man, I love watching Josh Hart play. The hustle brings good results.

reply

He’s been my favorite role player this year and he just went down.

reply

Man he went down hard

reply

Another great finish. That OG shot was spectacular.

reply

It really was. Crazy close game

reply

With the mounting injuries, it might be tough for NY to close out this series.

reply

I was thinking the same, though more about how far they can go beyond the series. But you’re right, they may not even make it out

He seems to have a lot of fuel in the tank

reply

Just turned that game on. I have been flipping between baseball, hockey and the Magic vs Celtics.

reply

How is magic Celtics?

reply

Close game. Neither team shooting that well. Almost halftime.

reply

Bucks came out strong, big lead on Indy. Kinda surprised

reply

Pacers will come back. They are a streaky team.

reply

I saw a clickbait title suggesting this might be giannis’ last game with Milwaukee. That would be interesting. Poor Lillard, too

reply

I was suggesting to @gnilma earlier that the Rockets should trade for him. They need an elite scorer and Bucks need to to retool. Maybe it will be Lillard they trade and keep Giannis.

reply

I was going to pitch that OKC should trade for Giannis, if they don't win the title.

Miami might be a destination to watch. Word is Pat Riley isn't happy that they just set the playoff single series futility record for worst total point differential.

reply

That was quite a performance by the Heat last night. Almost makes me believe in my Cavs again.

OKC has so many picks, they could potentially trade for almost anyone they want. Making the salary work is probably the biggest problem for a trade like that. I think some of their rookie contracts are coming up for renew soon and would be hard for OKC to keep the core, let alone make cap space for Giannis.

reply

I think you do whatever it takes (short of trading SGA), if you can actually land Giannis.

My thinking is that they have more guys and picks than they can actually use. Instead of paying one of those unproven young guys as much as Giannis, just pay Giannis that money.

Giannis will probably ask for a trade. He doesn't want to be stuck in a rebuilding team, be "the vet", and keep losing. He made it clear before, he wants to win now.

reply

And they really don’t have any trade assets to build around him.

reply

And, just like that, they've taken the lead.

reply

I've got some action on three of the underdogs tonight on Ember

  • Bucks 3.14x
  • Pistons 2.53x
  • Magic 4.39x
reply

Bucks looking like a decent pick, can they close?

reply

I thought they had it. Holy crap!

reply
reply

Huge OT 3's from Trent!

reply

Not looking good for Magic.

reply

Magic never stood a chance against Celtics.

reply

They won 1.

reply

They were hanging in there until the 3rd.

Celtics probably realized they need to close this one out and have some rest before the next series.

Any of you guys watching the Nuggets vs Clippers game?

reply

Agree on the rest. Gonna be important I think

reply

Yep. Russ is lighting it up.

reply

So nice to see Kawhi healthy. See that dunk?

reply

He had another one earlier too, but it didn’t count.

Yes watching now.

reply

Nothing’s more dangerous for both teams than a confident Westbrook.

reply

I thought they would take 1. I have Celtics winning in 5 in my brackets.

reply

Overtime.

reply

Trent on fire.

reply

Insane ending

reply

That was wild.

reply

If you build it, they will come.

reply

What a finish!

reply

Man, was that Trent Jr. that got the ball out of bounds and got the turnover? Whoever it was, he's going to get grilled hard.

reply

Yeah. He was on fire all OT. Too bad for him.

reply

Just like Mark Andrews, it’s not all on him

reply

They wouldn’t have been in that spot without all those 3s he hit.

reply

Precisely

reply

Gotta say this — I'm enjoying watching Basketball with the same degree of intensity like I watch Cricket.
Pistons hold onto their nerves in the end, what Bucks couldn't do.

Are the pacers advancing towards the next round now?

reply

Yes the Pacers move on. They will play the Cavaliers.

reply

Those are two of the best games you’ll see, especially in the first round.

reply

You mean cavaliers vs Pacers?
Are Pacers good enough to set an upset?

reply

No, I meant the first two games tonight.

Cavs vs Pacers should be fun, but I expect the Cavs to handle their business without too much difficulty.

reply

Ahh ok. I'm watching nuggets vs clippers now. Who do you project to advance of the two?

reply

I picked Denver on my bracket, but the Clippers have looked like the better team for most of the series.

Since Denver’s ahead by a decent margin right now, I’ll stick with predicting them to win the series.

reply

Thanks.

Jamal Murray is playing exceptionally well. Nuggets are running away.

reply

At son's classmate's birthday party. Streaming the game on my phone.

This is my first time following it, so I cant really say from experience
