New stackers when posting or commenting will now be prompted to add to a receiving wallet. (via @ek)
@ek's 'most comments' experiment surfaced the inability to unsubscribe from all of your replies in a thread easily. Now, when you unsubscribe from a item, it also unsubscribes you from all of your replies to that item (via @ek).
@brymut implemented the option to randomize poll choices.
@sox made it so profile avatars are cropped without losing quality.
@abhishandy improved url search.
@brymut made our automated social media poster tag stackers on nostr if their story is posted.
@abhishandy added a boost maximum.

Wallet prompt is a great idea.
To fix the notification spam, you first need to subscribe to the post and then unsubscribe.
I know it’s bad UX, but that’s the best I could do yesterday.
Ok I muted a couple people. I will unmute them when it is over. It turned into a real Lord of the Flies situation. If you were writing a dissertation on human behaviour this would be a great experiment to draw conclusions from.
I would like to write a research paper using Stacker News data if @k00b and @ek would allow it :)
I would even happily grant coauthorship status which is sometimes a courtesy given to data providers
I think data from SN could get published in journals like Games and Economic Behavior or Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization. Possibly some crypto/computer journals as well but I'm less familiar with those
That'd be awesome! I'm open to anything that would allow us to respect all stackers' privacy.
Let's talk. One possibility is I could give you an SQL script that would extract the data I'm thinking, you can scrub out any data that would lead to privacy concerns, and send the data over a secure channel.
Did I survive the mute slaughter?
I did not mute you. Did you see we have a new Rams fan? @metadavid
@metadavid is SMART SMART MAN
🙌 💙💛💙
Are you also fans of the other LA teams or just the Rams?
lol, that’s a good description. Whoever wins will be the Lord of the Flies!
If @plebpoet wants to include ‘most comments’ in her next zine, this should be one of the comments about it
Thanks.
Shout-out to @OneOneSeven and @plebpoet for design inspiration!
@OneOneSeven mentioned in #931594 to make it clearer that this is about lightning wallets. So I added “lightning” with the Lightningvolt font:
https://m.stacker.news/85303
When I showed this to @plebpoet, she immediately said I should include “wallet.”
I think it looks so much better now! This is what I had before with no inspiration:

@brymut comes flying in off the high rope. Great job!
Not just new stackers. I got this too. But I have been using the custodial wallet for months. Just switched back to non.
yeah anyone who does not have a receive wallet will get this prompt and then they can select to never show it again
Just another way to annoy me...
click
dont show this againthenskipand never see it again.triggered by "prompt" - too much AI lately
URL search means now we can search URL in SN search. I have always missed it. What is boost maximum?
Boost allows you to pay to get your items ranked higher. Before, we didn't have an explicit boost maximum so the error message was funky when you made it too large.
Gotcha.
