Yesterday, my Head of Department came over to talk to me. She wanted my inputs on whether the Spelling Bee should be scrapped this year because of manpower constraints.
As the organiser of the Spelling Bee for three consecutive years, this really fired me up. I thought it was a bad idea to scrape it because having a signature program is instrumental to boosting department morale and capturing student engagement. So, even though I was exhausted, my mind was furiously thinking about how I could make things work.
I guess I was intoxicated by this problem because I was coming up with spelling words while getting my two kids through the routine. And today, during my commute to work, I worked on the finer details of a truncated version of the Spelling Bee. By the time I reached school, I was more than ready to present my streamlined version. I was in fact stoked!
How about you?
My biggest "problem" right now is for me (my wife) to survive the birth and hold our new baby in our arms. The "big brothers" are also very excited about it.

How many more weeks before its due date?

Yesterday my wife had a gynecological check-up, the gynecologist said that it won't be the beginning of May, but probably the end of April (the baby is already over 3 kg). The "normal" period ends on May 9th, but it will be a cesarean section, that's why it's been "brought forward". So...to answer your question...there are still 2-3 weeks left... the next check-up will be on April 23rd, and that's when it will be decided exactly when

Fight for the spelling bee!
I'm in the process of using LLMs to categorize and digitize a bunch of documents related to the urban regulatory and planning process. This should open new possibilities for research using textual data that were hitherto very expensive to do. Pretty excited about this!
