Is this just police picking on a new technology?
What if a human driver pulled over to the side of the road when it was no longer safe to drive. Would the police force you to move the car if it was "not safe" to do so?
Example: "Sir you need to keep driving, I don't care if there is a tornado"

I doubt it. I trust those things about as much as I trust gas station sushi. They'll lock up in the middle of intersections etc.
