British hodl explains how to generate income in a brokerage portfolio using this YieldMax MSTR Option Income Strategy ETF (MSTY).
British makes a strong argument as to why Fiat isn’t going anywhere any time soon. If you and I have 1BTC and after a year I still have my 1BTC because I have a portfolio that generates income to pay for my expenses and you sell to cover your expenses and you only have 0.5BTC left all things considered with the scarcity of bitcoin I will be much better off than you. Point blank. You can call me a fiat maxi and all that but at the end of the name calling I still have more Bitcoin than you.
Overall this ETF just buys and sells call options and put options. As long as the price stays within a certain band the fund pockets that premium and pays it out in a cash dividend.
Thus if you are 70 and you need income you can buy this and pay your expenses plus it gives you exposure to MicroStrategy stock price appreciation thus making it better than a treasury.
Mind you this is financial engineering on steroids. A nasty downturn can blow you up but that’s life.
Will you add MSTY to your portfolio to generate a monthly dividend?
"A nasty downturn can blow you up but that’s life." And this is happening almost every time with retail...
Btw...the video is excellent, the explaination of fiat money is great...and this is also an opportunity to generate a "passive" income. I imagine this like a trading robot (you need to set up the 2 prices, the amount and the "staircase", and the robot will buy/sell).

Lol they've been selling this "hack" on paper products in the post, your gold etfs your stocks, just because bitcoin is mentioned in the pitch doesn't make this a good idea, you'll likley get blown out because the average bro doesn't know wtf they doing when it comes to trading options
reply
Blown out how? No one is selling cold storage bitcoin to buy this ETF. Most do it to cover fiat expenses if they don’t have a monthly income.
reply
I feel this is a bit too risky. Especially considering how much bitcoin moves. Its better to just hold on to your bitcoin and watch the value increase.
reply
But that doesn’t help you if you need income today to meet your expenses
reply
Should you be spending your income on bitcoin if you need it for expenses?
reply
Most don’t. Even if they have extra income majority of people don’t care about bitcoin
reply
In general, you shouldnt invest money that you need. You should look at it as a loss. Thats why it is important to create a budget and live within your means.

Good question. Well, I suppose a litany of sources claiming it is/isn't financial advice. I think there's a lot of gut feeling when it comes to these kind of decisions.
Where do I get my advice?
  • Stay humble, stack sats
  • Buy Bitcoin

"Let's talk about something Bitcoiners don't like to talk about ... They don't know, ... they don't like... they are terrified about ... "
I do not like to talk about income?
I talk about income everyday.
I just feel there are so many caveats when people talk about the allure of yield. Where does the yield come from?
"There are real people buying Bitcoin?"
Who is not a real person? I'm not a gold guy. I'm not a Bitcoiner. I am a real person
I don't like in Dubai, I don't live in the US, I don't live in the UK. So may assumptions here! Anyway, listening to what this real person is saying.
If you borrow from loan facilities to buy, are you a Bitcoiner?

You can call me a fiat maxi and all that but at the end of the name calling I still have more Bitcoin than you.
No you don't. You have more shares of msty than me. I have cold storage Bitcoin. They aren't the same thing.
reply
False. If you sell/use bitcoin to pay for stuff and I never do. In the long run I will end up with more bitcoin than you
