Yea, if I had kids, I'd dump a lot of money into their futures. What's the hardest part about home schooling?
Do you want to have someday?
Nope. The wife and I decided against it.
I respect your decision. Challenges in education, whether home or traditional school, change each year due to increased technology or lack of it.
Sounds like a big time commitment to come up with lesson plans...
Despite public school indoctrination, I would also worry about the knowledge bubble I'd be keeping my kid in.
Not really. The online platforms we use create the curriculum. We just need to make sure the kids follow the lesson plans, complete and understand the work. A lot of their learning can be self-directed. If they are into a certain subject we will let them run with it and get ahead as long as they are doing well and understanding the concepts.
It's worth it because we are doing our part so that they have the ability to make good decisions in life. I often say that education is never a spending, but a great investment.
Agreed
We homeschool our kids. We pay a lot for educational resources, different online programs, extracurricular activities for them. It is definitely worth it.
