I totally disagree.
The main thesis is that we don't need to "orange pill" people anymore because everyone already heard of Bitcoin---That telling people about Bitcoin now is only a selfish act of trying to pump our bags or getting a dopamine hit in our own brains.
This is just wrong. Yes, everyone has heard of Bitcoin, but still less than 1% truly understand what it is. They have no idea what it means to be a blockchain or what is proof of work. 99% still think it is some worthless token that people speculate on, like any other shitcoin.
I have explained the basics of Bitcoin to many people. Even to people who've already heard of it but never understood it. ALl of them have thanked me for explaining it, that they understand it better now, that it's actually pretty cool.
Not all of them went out to buy Bitcoin, because the truth is most people don't have an immediate need for it. That's fine, it's their choice. But at least there are a few more people out there who understand what it is and recognize that it's not just a scam for pumping bags.

I didn't read it, not gonna read it. I'm sure there are people that have mental issues and try to orange pill people... ok. So what. Bitcoin is a technical project that is at the intersection of economics, political thought, investment, computers, and encryption. The venn diagram is gonna have a LOT of autists. The author is likely one as well... I'm probably right there with them... We are not normal people. I personally don't wanna be normal.
Social skills seldom overlap with the interests I mentioned. I consider myself pretty high functioning socially for the level of nerd I am on these topics and I can tell you most people don't care about bitcoin or any of these topics.

I heard of bitcoin a long time ago. I heard it was a scam. I heard it was dead. I heard it was a pondicherry scheme. I heard all the horrible shit and listed to it. I could have been buying Bitcoin for years.
I agree, it's far from selfish. I literally want everyone I know to buy some to help THEM, not me.

Impossible to help people dude... if they don't want to help themselves. I never tell people about Bitcoin 'as an investment' because it can and will 'go down' and they will blame me. People have to discover it on their own some kind of way

If I had never studied aeronautics and large aviation systems (large commercial aircraft) I would have never 'got' Bitcoin. It makes me wonder - had my life taken a different turn, educationally, personally, professionally... would I have never 'got' (ie understood) the importance of Bitcoin?
Maybe not. Maybe that's why there are 'relatively' so few people who are into Bitcoin for its fundamentals and merits - it takes a combination of professional and personal perspective to really 'catch' onto it after which it just makes so much sense.

Instead of mass orange-pilling without much substance, it’s often better to first build some rapport with the business owners.
If they get an idea that you’re smart and trustworthy, they will often decide for themselves that they want to start accepting bitcoin for their business.
It’s important to be interested and ask questions about their business (i.e. what are they struggling with etc.)
Maybe they don’t need Bitcoin right away, but you could first help them e.g. set up a better social media presence, and gain their trust that way before eventually handing out the orange pill.
You can e.g. show them BTC Map where tourists can find your business, show them an example of the costs associated with credit card payments or add them to a local P2P cash trading group if they want to know how they can cash out.

rapport with business owners is a very good idea

Want to orange pill someone? Just live a good life

Hot take: the "mental issues" have nothing to do with bitcoin.

want to orange pill someone? demand payment for something they want, in Bitcoin.
bad for business? oh well, quit being annoying and live your life.
this isn't snark. darknets orange pulled LOTS of pharmaceutical opioid addicts.
give things time, don't be annoying. best in class products eventually grow to fill their niche, Bitcoin is no exception.
