I've never understood Mr. Beast's appeal (or 99% of popular creators), but I did find this deep dive into his finances kind of interesting. Still could care less about anything he does.

I find Mr Beast incredibly gauche because of how he loves waving money around.
For YouTubers doing weird stunts and stuff, I like Mark Rober better

I'd literally never heard of Rober before today (I'm very out of the current internet zeitgeist, I guess) until a friend mentioned him, and now I've heard of him twice.
And yeah, "gauche" is a great word for Beast.

That’s interesting because my part time contract job is doing some operational management consulting for a small business that owns a number of franchises and one is a grocery store and another a convenience store and sell through of those feastable bars is absolutely terrible.

I shudder and walk away whenever I see them in my local store, but just assumed I'm not the audience.

That's a good place to be for him, producing content and coming up with new ideas or rather spin offs of the same shit that people will tune in for gets harder the more your catalogue grows.
Also relying in google to be above board with revenue share is a risk many businesses took and got cooked.

I didn't feel like doing the Captcha to see the article. What was your biggest takeaway?

He is not the CEO of his own business, kinda feel sorry for the kid. Looking forward to what he does after the video stuff. Would be interesting to see how he can apply that level of genius to something else.

There's a captcha? I thought archive.is was the way to avoid crap like that.
The big takeaway to me is that YouTube isn't a way to get rich by itself, because it just has limits on how much creators can take in beyond a certain point (and video can be expensive to make), but it's a way to help create money-making opportunities elsewhere.

Ok, that is interesting. That will potentially be a huge competitive advantage for whoever gets a good direct-to-creator bitcoin video platform built.
