BlackRock is becoming new East India Company very rapidly.
reply
That analogy sounds cute.
Maybe a lil appro, given that the difference between crown and private enterprise in the heyday of East India was microscopic
reply
East India company had the backing of the crown and here BlackRock definitely has the backing of a stupid arrogant leader.
reply
I guess the jury is still out on "stupid." We shall see
reply
He's arrogant. That's why he's stupid. This counts +1 in favour.
reply
well, it's not arrogance if it's backed up by competence. While I'm not exactly a fan in general (no MAGA caps around the house!), I'm willing to await the results before placing my verdict!

Blackrock is becoming huge. But all things topple after being on top. There is always a bigger fish.

Now it was time to mix business, they could charge the Panama Canal toll in Bitcoin.

I don't think BlackRock has done it deliberately. There was an article on FT yesterday that suggested BlackRock has been forced to involve in the deal. #903682
reply
I'm getting the impression that Trump was merely aware of the deal, which he heartily blessed, but that it was underway already.
reply
"forced" seems a little much... strong-armed or bullied or influenced etc.
It was a strange throw-away line in the FT article, without explanation: well, ms. Journalist, how do you know that was the case, then? SAYS WHO?!

In Bitcoin (not too long) history was several peoples / institution / goverments who want to "control" it... but none of them succeeded... BlackRock will be the next on the list :)

Let's hope so
