Don't get me wrong. The current admin is OBVIOUSLY biased in their attacks on the system. This should be obvious when people like me comment on it but I know we have special people here that don't have the ability to sense nuance.
The right likes to pretend the problem is with the Democrats. They are 1/3rd right. The problem also includes the other party and the system. The system (the state) resists change. Go watch "Yes Minister!" for a fun example of a system resisting change without any cloak and dagger stuff.
The right likes to pretend its all spooky and dark but a lot of the rot and resistance is from established bureaucrats that are about as scary as a DMV worker. If it were all jack-booted thugs we could easily get people to understand the issues. The tyranny has a smiley face and is draped in a US flag. When you talk about it for what it is you get accused of hating America. Which... is not the US government. I love America. I hate the US government. Its a false god that for many people has become their idol. They just don't realize it.
I honestly don't care at all about the bias. If Democrats want to get in there and hack away at the right's beloved projects, while exposing their malfeasance, I'll cheer for them too.
You're absolutely right about the nature of the problem. I've known plenty of federal workers and they've all been perfectly ordinary people. This is an issue of us being way out on an ideological fringe that most people don't share. When they're looking for jobs, the feds are just viewed as one amongst many options.

Yeah, start chopping on either side of the tree. Either is fine by me.
Reminds me of that CEO that says he is a long time Dem. He said the Dems are committing suicide(I agree). He wants them to JOIN DOGE and partner with them to help root out fraud, waste, and abuse instead of fighting that effort. On an optics level that makes sense from a non-cynical view.
reply
The reason the Dems don’t go all in for DOGE is that it is their clan that would be having its ox gored. The state workers are very well connected to the Dems, some might say, at the hip. So, to go after them would be seen as a suicidal gesture, or at least self-inflicted harm.

For sure

The Democrats and bureaucrats really couldn't be losing the optics battle any worse if they were trying to.

Do you think that they are playing to their audience? Maybe, they can’t figure a way to disconnect themselves from the far-left enough to make some independent moves. If they lose the far-left they are SOL. There would be no way for them to recover for.a long time.
reply
I think they are legitimately this out of touch.

That is a pretty damning statement. They must have someone that is semi-rational around to shake them awake.
