I think this first shift with Canada sending out the skill players is going to tell us how Canada is going to respond. Tkachuk bothers are just menace and Canada doesnt seem to have a response (they should have had Tom Wilson on the team).

Hellebuyck is great. Goaltending is probably USA's biggest advantage in this game.

Honest to god the play was so clean I missed it in real time... hell of a play and exactly what you would expect from a superstar like McDavid! Props to team Canada for weathering the storm because man the US came close multiple times and Bennington made incredible plays. He has to be MVP for yall

That was such an odd play because it looked like they were going to call it but it didn’t look like it hit a Canadian player so they don’t usually call it but linesman made it look much worse.
Yeah the optics def made it worse. It was interesting though to hear the announcers say that Canada had done these late changes several times. I am used to seeing them call it just to try and get the team to stop. Of course you wouldnt call it in OT but earlier in the game yeah

I think it was a mistake keeping the A power play team out there for as long as Canada did.... 40-50 seconds tops over a minute I mean... it just isnt smart in my opinion
Go figure. Matthews sucking worked to their advantage. He loses control of the puck and it bounces right to Tkachuk. Let's not talk about the goalie getting tripped right before that and the fact Canada should have been on a power play. As long as the calls are even.

From what I have seen the refs do seem to really be letting the guys play and like you said as long as it is equal then I love it but I mean let the boys play after all! How have you felt about the refing?
I feel like the missed call on the goalie hurt because it led to a goal 30 seconds later but was pretty weak contact. The one on the defenseman where he was pulled to the ground was a pretty bad missed call.
Okay crap I missed the pulled down defensemen was that before or after the USA goal (I went to the bathroom after so I would have missed it for sure then)
It was before the goal but a few minutes before so it wouldn't have impacted that play but Canada would have had the PP. I will see if I can find the replay.
