If everyone does it, it can work in the long run. But I don't see ~bitcoin and territories with permanent ownership will bother to mess with it.

Don't be so sure, ~bitcoin was the first territory to raise the posting fee.

Let's see what happens. I'll always favour 1 sat fee for comments especially for territories which needs more talks for fun.
Thinking the fees will generate more revenue is wrong, imo more engagement should be tbe primary goal.
