Chinas power is built upon competitive productive scale. Yes they lack the innovative research ability the west still leads on that- but China has mastered reverse engineering what the west expends its declining resources upon developing- take the recent AI coup.

China serves more nations more than USA does- China provides the most lucrative commodity markets and the most cost effective efficiently produced manufactured goods.

USA can cling to its fading hegemony but when the dollar is increasingly being replaced by Chinas shadow banking trade payments alternative the clock is ticking and US decline seems unlikely to be reversed. Wishful thinking, cosying up to Putin, alienating traditional allies and denial of the facts will certainly not save it.
