Commitments (You're accountable)

For today I've a very specific video that is an alternative to gym. Don't believe me, just do it half an hour daily for a week and decide yourself.
Now jump in the comments and let your fingers workout.....
And..as always...
Stay Happy and Healthy.
Ran 2.5 kms, 32 push-ups, walked back 2.5 kms, 20 minutes meditation.

Stick to it or improve it. Can't be lesser than it now.

I did my steps 8.8k, yesterday, and am over 19 hours into my dry fast today.

Great! How about extra steps? Do they count? Dry fasts for me are somewhat crazy. I always wonder what direct benefits do we get by dry fasting? Don't you feel thirsty at times and you just have to crush it under your strong will (or anything else)?
reply
There's some great research on dry fasting, some of which I posted in the previous ~Health territory. In short, it helps the body clean up dead cells and other junk that otherwise gum up our systems. You don't get too thirsty, because our body's produce water internally as product of normal metabolic reactions.
I don't take the approach of crushing anything under my strong will (which arguably is non-existent). I listen to my body and if I were truly hungry or thirsty, I would eat or drink accordingly.
The extra steps don't count towards the challenge, but Workit (and sMiles) pay sats for steps and they count for that.

You know we've a culture of fasting here. All married women dry fast at least once a year on Karwa Chouth. All sadhus (saints), spiritual people encourage it but somehow I just never did it. Now that I'm feeling inspired, I'll try it out. First I'll try it for 12 hours tomorrow.

Starting small is smart. At the beginning of the month, I was only doing 13 hours, but then it got easier to go longer.
I didn't know there was Holiday that involved dry fasting. That's interesting.

India is a land of festivals apart from many other things. My mother fast every Monday for Lord Shiva, 11th day (Ekadashi) of Hindu calender (occurs twice a month). Then there are many festivals and she does fast on all of them. We have many many Gods and Goddesses.
Flexing mine
I eat like a glutton though

Impressive, but also a bit easier when you live in a tropical paradise.

I expected you to flex your WFH arrangement haha

Today was pulling day, so lat pulldowns, barbell row, barbell curl and cable curls. McGill big 3 for the back and done. Weight about 97 kg. Will hodl at this bw for now and maybe trim of some more in April/May. Current program is push, pull, legs, push, pull and skiing/hiking/bicycle in weekend. I've been doing powerlifting for many years but now when I'm approaching 50 the ambition is just to stay healthy and fit.

Normally I weigh myself every Friday. Last Sunday was free meal day and I ate too much ice cream, I don't think my weight changed much because I stuck to the diet. This week my lunch will be chicken and meat proteins, with lots of roasted vegetables, little rice and beans.
reply
What? Ice cream? That's too much, you're accountable!! As a punishment ;) Now you've to go dry fasting like #889427.
You can accompany me tomorrow for 12 hours. What do you say?
reply
Is it like intermittent fasting? How does it work?
On Friday, I’ll weigh myself and share it. I’ll try to post here regularly.
