My experience with cats aligns with this exactly. I've noticed it usually follows a pattern:

1. Try to impose human-rules/limitations/"order"
2. Get recked
3. Give up and surrender
4. Repeat until realizing they are in charge not you.

A friend actually warned me of this when i first adopted. She said, you will begin to realize whose house you are really living in 😆
