Impressive (terrifying?) to see.

I was also chased by a hungry feline! For some reason I was working at a tiger+lion facility, and someone hadn't closed the gates so the very hungry lionesses escaped and chased me around

ed: 32 seconds today, but honestly I could have let go (body wanted air) after like 7 seconds...

Recognising that signal when to stop can take time. For me it's usually a contraction of the diaphragm.

I'm still a little unclear as to the instructions... I can definitely hold a little longer, I think, but then I would probably be "gasping for air" etc

Your breathing should be normal after the breath hold. Sometimes, I miss the mark by ~two seconds, and it takes me two or three breaths to regain my composure.
