I get what he's saying but Rand did a pretty amazing job of influencing thought IMO. The number of companies named after things in her books and successful people that credit her book is huge. Not to mention how many books she sold.
Humans are moved more by art than reason. Humans are seldom rational either. Rand's writings are filled with both reason and rationality. Even with all of her success you never hear her name mentioned when theres a list of influential women. It's very telling.
She had plenty of flaws and I think some of her biggest are related to emotion and likely due to trauma she suffered.
Years ago I worked with a woman named Dagny. No question her parents read Rand.
