Someone asked me "what are you excited about?" yesterday. It is such an awesome question.
I'm looking forward to a reading/research/working vacation in the near future. No pressure on myself to code or review code. Just me, my brain, normal levels of sleep, a new place/environment to break its contribution to my default thinking, and the life's work of other people to read.
I put everything on hold to slog through this wallet stuff, so I'm also excited about getting back to yoga this year and reprioritizing my health.
Do you have the wallet thing fully wrapped up, or do you still have loose ends to deal with?
Yoga, or really stretching in general is something I desperately should be doing, I have the mobility of a 90 year old coma patient. I wouldn't have pegged you as the yoga type, so that's a really cool fact to have learned about you.
Unfortunately I hate being uncomfortable for extended periods if time and yoga is fucking hard, so it ends up in the same bucket as cardio for me. I should, but mostly don't do it.

We have a few loose ends to wrap up and some maintenance that we deferred, but I'll have the space for a break soon.

I have a lot of poorly rehabbed sports injuries, so it's the best/safest kind of exercise for me. It also doesn't require equipment, it's easy to find a teacher, and it doubles as meditation - so it has a lot going for it.
I did a lot of lifting in the past. I never felt like I had the command over my body that I wanted tho. I could force myself with my greater strength to do certain things, but I never felt properly aligned or safe to improvise outside of the relatively static lifts I did.

I can sympathize. You're in great shape so perhaps you don't need anything new. If you do want to do yoga, I'd recommend starting with a yin class which tends to be more about stretching and relaxing than cardio. I plan to get back to yoga through yin classes.

I'm in great shape for now, but I'm old and having dog shit mobility is a good way to get injured. I may check out a yin class, im sure I can find one in my area.

You should have me on sometime, I know some really neat sports facts. For instance, did you know a football is only 30% made out of human feet, and the rest is synthetic?
