Worked with a student on improving his Math first thing in the morning.
Challenge
A has been struggling with Maths in Year 1, particularly failing in the subject.
Intervention
FT introduced A to verbal self-instruction training. Using the unit workbook on fractions, FT taught A the key questions to ask himself to solve equivalent fraction problems. A was able to solve a few problems successfully. FT will continue to support A in integrating this verbal self-instruction training into his mental processes.
