Hello Stackers!
It's Thursday so that means it's Throwback Thursday Time!
I'm going to give you a bunch of clues and I want you to guess the year and comment a song from that year. Highest ranked correct answer (by "top") gets the bounty. Entries close prior to "Feel Good Friday" Post.
🚨A guess without a correct song doesn't win, both your guess and the song must be from the correct year.🚨
Here we go!
  • The Beatles' Shea Stadium concert: The Beatles played at Shea Stadium in New York City, the first rock concert to be held in a major American stadium. The concert set new world records for attendance and revenue.
  • Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone": Released in July, this song is considered by some to be the greatest song of all time. Dylan also went electric at the Newport Folk Festival, which marked the beginning of folk-rock.
  • The Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction": This song made the band a worldwide success. The British Invasion: The British Invasion brought new artists and hits to the US, including Herman's Hermits, The Yardbirds, The Who, Petula Clark, and Freddie and the Dreamers.
  • The Mary Poppins soundtrack: The best-selling album of the year, spending 14 weeks at number one.
  • The Beatles' albums: The Beatles had three number one albums in this year: Beatles '??, Beatles VI, and Help!
  • Motown's success: Motown's artists had multiple number one hits, including The Supremes, The Temptations, and The Four Tops. Soul music became a key force in desegregation.
  • The miniskirt: Fashion designer Mary Quant introduced the iconic miniskirt.
And the lovely Lulu gives us this!!
How many of these events do you remember? Any more you would add?

Act Naturally - The Beatles

The Beatles covering a Buck Owens song! From what I understand they were fans of country music in this era. I saw an interview with someone that worked at Capitol Records at the time, and they mentioned that the Beatles were Buck Owens fans and always wanted copies of his new records. Buck and his band returned the favor and covered Twist and Shout at their London concert a few years later.

Lots of Beatles representation here today.

This song is amazing. The way he sings the line "I need your love" damn, gets me every time, you can hear the yearning in the notes. Clearly deliberate, clearly planned and knew exactly what he was trying to portray in the lyrics and the way he chooses to sing them.

"Satisfaction" is a single released by the British rock band The Rolling Stones in 1965. "Satisfaction", whose riff is one of the most famous in rock history, gave the band their first number one hit in the United States.
