Why do you need to link a wallet? Do you need to pull sats from SN? The point of SN is not for each stacker to pull sats, its to use this site to understand and hear news surrounding bitcoin and the world. If you do things correctly on this site, you dont have to add or take out sats from SN. Have to think of your priorities.
Typically I zapped you 21 sats 2 times, and you didn't receive anything in sats according to the details. It says 42 CCs in the details of your comment. Did you link a wallet?
reply
Not at all. I havent even tried. What is the point of linking a wallet? I received CCs, and l will zap someone else CCs. Its how it works on SN now, you habe to evolve with the times.
reply
The point is simply using a network based on Bitcoin.

You can still use it, maybe just not for SN. Im not encouraging you not to learn how to use everything or read guides on it, but in some cases it is just easier to use the estabolished system.

Wallet setup is an established system on SN, it is available in the settings. I always have been attracted to things like P2P communications, ham radio, etc. So maybe I am simply biased towards that and am simply not able to understand your viewpoint. Maybe you're right.

I agree that the purpose is to have interesting conversations about anything surrounding Bitcoin, the world, tech, etc, and I have it so I am happy in my side.
However if sending or receiving sats P2P has an issue, then it defeats in my opinion the original motivation to use the Lightning network in the first place (not at all a criticism of SN) My perspective was more on the sending side and I was more specifically thinking about the P2P aspect of zaps rather than the aspect of pulling sats.

You are still able to get the p2p zapping with CCs. The problem is that you are stuck in the wrong mindset.
reply
CCs are basically just an entry on a database managed by SN so it is not P2P. Bitcoin or the Lightning network are.

Unless you are managing your own node, you are pawning off all the hard work onto someone else. Food for thought.

I somewhat agree. I had my own node and used Zeus until June of last year, but because of travel and unstable Internet connection and electric grid, I temporarily gave up running my own node. My alternative is Phoenix for Lightning and Rizful for Stacker News (and other temporary wallets to get liquidity). With Rizful I use a managed node so I have P2P transactions in both cases.
