I like this dog, but look at its body shape. It's so tall 😁

Tall and thin. All the sighthounds are like that to some extent.

I have never understood the aesthetics of this dog, since l didnt grow up with them or anything similar.
The greyhounds were similar and used for hunting, right?

Yes, they are all hunting dogs known as sighthounds. They hunt with eyesight and speed, so typically their prey are small and fast.

I also see a lot of these at the dog competitions because they are so fast.

These guys are fast, but not greyhound fast. I used to go to a dog track once in a while with friends who lived in Massachusetts. Retired racing greyhound adoption was and probably still is a big thing.
They make good pets, and surprisingly don't mind just becoming couch potatoes.

Recently l have noticed people getting larger dogs.
Especially huskies.
Some kind of trend, or maybe it is based on my location?

Maybe it's your location. It seems to me that smaller dogs are getting more popular around here. I have big dog bias, though I have owned many little dogs.

It could be, l live in a colder state.
People tend to get them and not realize how much attention they need.
