He's not retired; he is a studio commentator for cable TV hockey broadcasts. He also does ads for gambling apps. He seems kind of hard up for money despite being the greatest hockey player ever; a far cry from his peers like Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman, and Mario Lemieux who have been very successful in their post-playing careers.
So, your argument is because he does TV ads and works part time as a NHL studio analyst that means he will run for Prime Minister?

That I am not sure about but I would expect that if he did it would go about as well as his experience with the Phoenix Coyotes.
