They are discovering a better way to compress files using "middle out" compression and the idea is inspired by the idea of working 2 guys at once and how much more efficient that could be. And then they apply that knowledge to their tech project. You would have to see it. It's a Mike judge show. Super funny in my opinion. It's about tech nerds in silicone valley.
