Nope, they didn't lay off or anything, everything was fine no one was impacted.
That was an unusual situation then. Usually, there are some lost jobs due to ‘streamliining” or “efficiencies” in the merging. Say for instance the HR departments are not both needed.

Yes, we too were surprised that nothing happened. It's just that our parent company decided to hold on and not interfere with the existing system until needed. I think they just wanted to acquire it. But yeah who knows what could come next?

Was Berkshire the parent company? They do things this way for well run companies.
