Why is the year 1929 in the name of this drink?
Sometimes the same name has different meanings. The best classic example is the cosmopolitana: The 1934 is the original with gin and raspberry syrup, while the Dale Degroff version is made with vodka and orange curacao. The 1929 refers to the original specifications of the French version, which was created before the American prohibition rift.
