If you google it, you can see this has happened at multiple of these "gun buyback" events.
You could probably make a living by just driving from town to town with a van full of 3D printed garbage and selling them.
Regardless, 90+% of the "guns" in these buy backs are broken, worthless garbage. Talking old rusted and bent guns. Its great because you take the money from the old worthless gun and go buy a new gun with it.

The best thing is you empty the treasuries of these kinds of programs quickly, effectively and without much effect on the gun owning population. It is.a fool’s errand in the US.
