deceptors will muddy the waters by saying some true things and then mixing in lies. there is variable signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). everyone knowingly or unknowingly propagates noise. look for higher SNR, always. Tyson looks like a noisy dude to me, similar to Bill Nye. listen to Feyman more, he was amazing with fundamentals.

I recall watching a video of him perhaps 10 years ago talking about string theory. He said he was 1 of only perhaps 3 people in universe smart enough to understand it. That's indicative of his whole schtick, he's super smart- just ask him. 

Why do you consider him a jackass? A few reasons I’ve come across are that he occasionally makes unverified claims and seems to push the narrative that the government genuinely cares about people.
