For real, about the tungsten - apparently it's a huge deal.

I wandered into a gold coin/collectible type shop a couple weeks ago, and talked to the owner. Apparently at least once a day somebody comes in and tries to sell them a gold-covered tungsten coin. Many of them are apparently con artists, but some of them have have been conned themselves.
