Are there any fans of the The Voidz here? Pretty wild stuff, I imagine it is a bit inaccessible. Not sure what to call it. Is it even "good music"?
I feel this song and video are amazing and it also happens to be their most popular. This one is an easier listen then a lot of their stuff.
What's some music you like, that you think probably doesn't resonate with a wide audience? What makes music good or correct?

Hi my friend. @DesertDave, I personally have a very varied taste in music, but I have never listened to that group. I think that what makes a song go out of style is that no one listens to it anymore. I have always loved romantic music and no one listens to it anymore.

Really? I would figure romantic music to be timeless in general. What's more relatable than love? That's kind of sad.

That's right, my friend, society has become empty and plastic, love apparently is no longer important. Romantic music is the most beautiful thing in the world.

There's no such thing as correct in my eyes and I'd even stretch to good. It's a very subjective experience based on personal tastes.
There are things that sound appealing to me or others that don't sound appealing to someone else. Personally I try to look at the technical ability of the musician and ask myself the simple question. "Can I do what they do?" It's usually no, then I go and find out how they do it and then you have and understanding of just how complex their musicianship is, even if to your ears it's not very good.
Take screamo for example, producing that noise without causing tears and damage to your vocal folds is actually incredibly technical it's in that that I personally find respect for the artist, even if the genre isn't to my tastes, an appreciation of their talent is something I think we can all learn to have.
To your specific track, were the sounds they made appealing to my ears, yes. But by no means is that a prerequisite for it being good, I'm not qualified to call something good (personally I don't think anyone is). But did I enjoy it, did I hear the message, did I listen to the way the track was constructed and how meticulously and intelligently the artist placed each pause and note. Or with regards to vocals how the vocalist utilised their breath control so they didn't sound like they were straining. All those things are evidence of talent and ability. And far be it for me to claim to be able to do better.

I agree with all that. Great insights.

🤣🤣 seems you caught me in an insightful mood. 🤣🤣
Personally I find there's always something in every genre that I can say, "yaknow, it's pretty cool how X did Y" and sometimes that's enough to begin to appreciate the artwork they've produced.

I am with my daughter right now. She just said that Human Sadness is her favorite song of all time.

Which explains why we all need your ~alter_native 😃
If a song is an earworm to you, there’s no need to justify your musical preference to anyone (or even yourself for that matter).
I like S Club 7’s bubblegum pop

Reminds me of Car Seat Headrest

Instrumental music is not appreciated by many, and I'm not a connoisseur either, but I love this music

Ahh, I remember the voidz, I listened to their album Virtue a while back
What makes music good, is if it sounds good.
Its correct if it makes you bob your head, sing along, or dance.
I think all of the music I listen to resonates with a wide audience, either that or they're lying.
