Wow! haven't finished it yet but this looks like another legendary post. Thanks dergigi!

Thank you for the premature praise! 😅🧡

I started work on this over 2 years ago, and finally pushed it over the line. Happy to answer any questions over the next 48h or so.

Sounds like you are more in agreement with Jason Lowery's cyberdome defense/attack take than you may care to admit...

Whats the biggest risk to Bitcoin?

Do you have a morning routine?

I love this takeaway. Dergigi will single handily make bitcoin concepts and vocabulary accessible to the masses.

  1. "admins” abuse their powers and print more outright,
  2. "players” find ways to make more of it cheaply,
  3. "the arena” ceases to exist, either because of bankruptcy, intervention, or collapse.

Lingo in bitcoin is insanely tricky. I wish we would have better words to describe it, but I'm afraid that we're stuck with old and misleading metaphors. https://dergigi.com/terminology

reply
Absolutely, the concepts "mining", "wallet" and so on, are so far-fetched that
are causing most of the confusion.

I will insist on calling Bitcoin 'electronic cash',
it was it from the very beginning and that will be, forever.```

Not sure if you know but your amazing articles are also translated in Spanish: https://estudiobitcoin.com/dinero-magico-de-internet/

reply

I'm aware! They should all be listed here: https://dergigi.com/translations

reply
Translations are very personal and after reading few lines of the
Spanish site linked I would probably change some expressions.

I would suggest opening a Github to accept contributions and
changes to the translation so they are they closer to theoriginal
work by Gigi.

Just a suggestion, of course.```

@dergigi what are your thoughts on infinite halving.

That way, block rewards would always be there.

+1k, thankyou, great read!

Thank you 🙏🧡

Yes, the double-spending problem was one of the biggest achievements early cypherpunkers.

We did have hash-and-sign before. But in a decentralized (not signed by one individual) and fungible was an amazing feat. Very under-appreciated.

reply

Indeed! I portrayed some of this history in Chapter 1: https://21-ways.com/1/

What are your biggest concerns regarding Bitcoin?

Another awesome post, can’t wait till your new book is released…couldn’t think of a Bitcoin related question but was wondering what do you do for fun or downtime that doesn’t include computers or a screen?

reply

Take these 10k sats as a token of appreciation for this article and the great writing that you do in general Gigi. Keep it up and I look forward to the whole book, whenever it's done 😉

Thank you! Very kind 🙏🧡
