It took me 6 days to sync. Not the best wifi though. I'm curious to see how long it takes you. Keep us updated!

It's estimating ~40 hours, but it's fluctuating quite a bit.

I wanted to use internal, but I don't have enough space so I just went with external. That's almost defiantly the reason it's taking so long. I don't have the worlds fastest internet but ~300mbps shouldn't take 40 hours.

Yeah, external hard drive makes read/write significantly slower. I also had issues with USB-connected hard drives introducing write errors before.

No, it's taking way longer than i expected. Syncing to an external is pretty slow apparently.

Says I'm still 3 years and 29 weeks behind, and will take 3 days to sync.

I downloaded mine to internal and it still took that long, but my wifi is dog shit. The people saying it only takes 40hrs must have high end hardware and amazing wifi.

Once I get up and running and get my wallet connected to my own node, I plan on branching out to running a lighting node.

I'm just slowly working my way through all of this stuff, it's all outside of my wheel house, so I just slowly pick away at stuff and continue to learn.

I think that is a good way to learn. It's great to hear you are doing it though. I just got my lightning set up and it feels pretty cool. And I feel like I am starting to understand better. I have been around a while and I still am learning so much. How are you running the node?

Right now I'm downloading bitcoin cores, whenever that syncs up I'll go from there. I have no idea what I'm going to do for LN yet, I haven't gotten that far.
