Welcome to the 54th edition of The Daily Zap — A Daily Newspaper (Kind of 🙏). Here, you'll get links to all of the latest news and updates mostly from the last 24 hours, divided in Sections (much similar to pages on a newspaper).
Let's unfold!

~Bitcoin News of the Day

  • Kiyosaki revealed that he began to accumulate silver when it traded at $1 per ounce and he continues to buy it now as it has reached $32. The same story is with gold and Bitcoin, which he began to buy when BTC sat at $6,000. He continued to buy it when Bitcoin was worth $76,000 before reaching the most recent all-time high.

Global Trade & ~Econ

  • Most of the largest central banks have a “Plan B” when their paper policy goes haywire, and this backup plan is, to a certain extent, coordinated between them. The first seeds of Plan B were planted by European central bankers and politicians in the 1970s. Only the U.S., together with some of its most obedient vassal states, has been unwilling to cooperate.

~Politics_and_Law

  • The exit polls did not ask about media consumption, so we need to look for indirect clues. NBC asked the question in April when President Joe Biden was still in the race, and the results were dramatic. Among people who got their news from “newspapers,” Biden was winning 70-21. Among people who got their news from “YouTube/Google,” Trump led 55-39.

~Stacker_Sports News

  • Durant suffered the injury in Friday's 114-113 win over the Dallas Mavericks, a game he finished with 26 points in 37 minutes. The future Hall of Famer has had a strong start to the season, averaging 27.6 points while leading the Suns to first place in the Western Conference with an 8-1 record. He and Nikola Jokic are the only players this season shooting 55% from the floor and 40% from 3 while averaging at least 25 points per game.

~Tech & ~Science

  • “We’re in the midst of a completely new understanding of a common and aggressive mechanism that drives cancer,” said Mischel, who holds the Fortinet Founders Professorship. “Each paper alone is noteworthy, and taken together they represent a major inflection point in how we view cancer initiation and evolution.” Mischel is also an institute scholar at Stanford Medicine’s Sarafan ChEM-H.

~History with Mystery

  • An enfant terrible shook up Renaissance medicine by denouncing experts and debunking accepted wisdom. Was Paracelsus as radical as he seemed?

~Entertainment World

[Sean 'Diddy' Combs's kids have taken over his Instagram to defend their dad. The 'attempt to garner sympathy' may backfire.](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combss-kids-have-taken-over-his-instagram-to-defend-their-dad-the-attempt-to-garner-sympathy-may-backfire-215910994.html)**
  • The hip-hop mogul, who maintains his innocence, marked his 55th birthday in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center this week, where he had the option for “breakfast cake.” Outside the prison, his family gathered to celebrate him. They called Combs to sing happy birthday, complete with a cake and candles, then posted the recorded conversation with Combs to the star’s Instagram account.

You scooped us on the Durant story. We talked about it on the pod, but we haven't released the episode yet.
reply
Makes sense. He is the reporter and we are wannabe pundits.
reply
What a day for The Daily Zap! It scooped two greats of SN journalism for sports.
Had I known, I wouldn't have taken it. I see a bunch of stories for every space and for sports this one seemed the biggest of interest for stackers so it's here.
reply
No, it's a good choice and it's not like we talked about a lot.
reply
Ok. So it's all fine, we aren't at clash anymore. ;)
Will Europe adopt Gold standard ever again? Do you believe it?

No no, this won't happen. We're still in our phase of exoansion. Last victim of the ECB has been Croatia. In case of a systemic collapse the Europeans will return to their own fiat faster as You can blink. They need the printer to cover their defaults
reply
What about ECB imposing sanctions when they tear it apart. I mean who's running ECB? Does ECB know who's the boss? It's a worst experiment in economic history of Europe.

The bosses are keynesian globalists, France is running the show. Worst possible combo. There will be fireworks in the end when, let's say, Italy (my candidate no. 1), will leave, tearing down Target 2 with a default just to send german banks and insurers to hell
reply
Thanks! I thought it was Germany who built it.
I'd love those fireworks even though I don't like to play with them on Diwali.
No, that seems very unlikely. Maybe @TomK can elaborate.
My guess is that Europe will first revert back to separate national fiats, then dollarize when that fails, before ultimately bitcoinizing.

I've talked with him a lot of times. You, he and seem to me on the same page. I also believe that the day of ECB are almost over and it's been definitely getting daily threats from countries to detach their faith from it. We'll listen something big very soon.

I think watching the decay of the ECB and the europ banking system will teach us some interesting lessons. Of course You could have read Mises or Rothbard to come to the same conclusion. But who's reading books these days....
reply
You're right. The Dumb are following the Dumb. There wasn't any need for ECB imo but they did it and everyone followed. Crazy times!
Durant tried to dance with Kyrie but ended up hurting himself. Very unfortunate.
reply
Europe is not preparing for a gold standard. Far from it.
reply
I agree. But it's buzzing in there again. I remember, I listened Europe readopting GS 5 or 6 years ago. There was quite a lot buzz in the media and this time it's gonna be no different.
