Someone, in analyzing why the New York Times -- a very obviously left-wing publication -- kept emphasizing Harris mistakes and running editorials that seemed to undercut their own beliefs, noted that the circulation of the paper between 2016-2020 was incredibly high, so they'd actually benefit from a Trump presidency (as long as they maintained the facade of still being against him).
There's always power in opposition. It goes in both directions; we'll see more woke/left stuff under Trump, just as we're seeing more opposition to leftism under Biden/Harris (and saw the Tea Party under Obama). It makes sense; people fight harder when they're losing, get complacent when they're winning.
It's never about the short-term, though. It's about where things eventually end up.
Regarding Harris mistakes in NYT, that was a pro Kamala super pac giving her advice thru the NY times. Super pac cannot speak to Kamala directly, they have to send code thru a middle man or newspaper

It's all going to be okay.

well, the NYT was actually pretty good for a while there in 2016-17 -- promising to cover more viewpoints and more of the country and featuring conservatives etc. (the Bari Weiss era, let's say).
Then they collapsed and doubled-down on insanity

"Doubling down on insanity" is an apt description of the last 8 years
