I don't particularly like Elon Musk, nor do I trust his motives. That makes me biased. I admit that he is a genius with a good sense of humor. Does anyone else think there's a possiblity that he is fucking with bitcoiners by suggesting Ron Paul for his imaginary Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE)? He has played with the community before. That acronym isn't coincidental, and he knows that Ron Paul is a hero to many of us.
It would be a pretty good joke.

Yes, Elon has played with the community but...
Tesla found a Bug in BTC SERVER when they started accepting Bitcoin told everyone about it and fixed it. Tesla still has Bitcoin on the books.
Elon is a businessman. He gets lots of money from the US government but I think he also likes America and he likes being an American. He moved his operation from California to Texas, also when he realized California was anti-business.
He's going to do what's good for himself. He's playful. He's going to make people mad, but he's also fulfilling orders for his customers and that is important.
The panopticon might be in the works and that's just the way it is. Technically we will be able to handle that fine because people are always people.
At least the overt Biden Harris nonsense can stop if DJT gets a good team in the door.
I hope and pray our country can be a noble institution. If it can't then I still have to do my best. Last election I sat out and said I'm above all the nonsense. This time I'm more active and I'm hoping and praying that we can have a great America once more. A great America means a great Planet because each country can strive for sovereign and noble activity. Individuals can also step up their game by increasing their own noble behavior.
But
This is the Age of Quarrel (Kali Yuga) and it might just be the Age where very few men and women cultivate great spirit while the rest of humanity graduates to zoo keepers and caged animals.
Spiritually I'm very positive because I see the simple success of not getting caught into the fugue of false narratives.
Well see.
Let's pray. Spend time with people we love. Do good work. If we can influence the powerful then let's do so by noble character.
In the end The Supreme Personality of Godhead is in charge. That is good for us devotees who find pleasure in serving. God is also serving us and it doesn't hurt to strive for playing a great game of this material plane. This is not the end of all ends. It's merely a sacred place of human freedom and spiritual cultivation. We can't get bent out of shape over personalities. If we aren't doing direct business with that person then we can assume that our perception is filtered one way or the other.
To circle back to the Godhead... Here we can have a direct relationship and that a great thing. That's really the question is, " Do we need to trust other men blindly when we can trust that in service to God we will always have the best!

Thanks for typing it out. It strikes me how clear the indo-european language similarities are when it comes to 3 and 2 / half.
Kali - that's like the god of death? We're stuck in the meat-grinder it would seem. šŸ˜
I take it with a mountain of salt. Like the lifespans in the Old Testament.

I wouldn't trust Musk if he told me the sky was blue, given his track record and especially his love of trolling. As you note, that DOGE acronym isn't a coincidence.
(Also, no matter what Musk or Trump say now, Musk will have almost nothing to do with Trump's government other than to kowtow to him like the oligarchs do to Putin.)
reply
with a good sense of humor
That's open for debate.
Maybe I'm too much of a boomer to appreciate his humor and his attempts at being an edgelord. Maybe if it were on 4chan from an anonymous contributor, yes, but not from someone who has a real-life impact on people at the helm of some serious companies...
But in the grand scheme of things, his humor would be the least of my worries~~

Good point.

He seems to do things for maximum personal entertainment value so who knows but I donā€™t think he is intentionally trying to fuck with Bitcoiners any more than trying to intentionally piss off the administrative state by putting forward the only guy that might cut more than him.
reply
I'm not saying it's likely. I'm saying it's a possibility. Remember how he teased everyone with that lightning bolt emoji on twitter, drove up the price, then crashed the market with fud? Who knows? It would be great if he's serious.
reply
Drives me nuts that he doesnā€™t really get bitcoin. He could be such a great advocate.
reply
I think he understands it. He just thinks he's better off in the fiat system. I got excited like everybody else a few years ago. We were marionettes jumping on the string he held. Then he pulled the fud and began pumping DOGE. He understands. He just doesn't want it.
reply
Agree. Fiat subsidies/funding are what makes his empire viable. They would have threatened to pull the plug had he continued to accept Bitcoin for Teslas.

Is ron paul actually associated with it, or is musk trying to rope him into it?
reply
He is expressing interest. I would be stunned if this wasn't just a Musk PR stunt.
reply
A lot of his things fall through. He likes the attention towards him.

Elon is a good comedian nothing more!

I donā€™t know if he is playing us or not. If he can get Ron Paul involved with a Trump administration, we all win. Ron Paulā€™s policy recommendations are very libertarian, much more than Muskā€™s, or Trumpā€™s and would benefit most of us, just not the communists. However, Ron Paul has had some health issues and is even older that Obiden. He said he would be honored to work together with Musk and Trump, but can he? I, for one, would like to see him forming policy in the state (even though he might not appreciate working inside the state).
reply
I agree. It's unlikely, but it would be great.
reply
Ron Paul would be even better than Melei and his chainsaw!!! I could just see him going to work and leaving no prisoners.
reply
And he wouldn't even attend a WEF event.
reply
I donā€™t think he would, even to condemn them totally.
reply
You aren't biased. In fact you're wise to think so. Elon has no good motive than to pursue his own interest in everything. Elon Mask is shrewd and he know how to manipulate us and turn all attention towards him. All those who say he's a genius are delusional.

I think his motives, given the way he's spent his life, are likely more honest than the average person's but he's morally fallible like anyone. The thing to be concerned about is he has more talent to act on even normal motives.
I don't think there's much to Ron Paul being involved in DGE other than Ron Paul being aligned on shrinking gov. It's who a smart person would pick, isn't it?
reply
I love Ron Paul, but he's 89 years old. I would be all for this department with the old guy at the helm, but I can't imagine Elon as a government bureaucrat.
Also, creating a new department, with a staff, offices, etc, seems like growing government. Simply slashing useless departments and jobs would be real efficiency.
reply
64 sats \ 0 replies \ @k00b 3 Nov
You're right, if they create/bloat more agencies than they remove/shrink, they're failing to do their job. However, we already know what government looks like without an agency tasked with keeping government small. Maybe you need fire to fight fire?
Simply slashing useless departments and jobs would be real efficiency.
I agree, of course, but choosing which depts and jobs to slash would need to be done by people and people organize themselves into depts in government. Maybe they can subsume some other agency rather than creating a new one.
reply
The part I dont understand is his fascination with DOGE. He believes in bitcoin, holds it with his company. So why is he always beating the DOGE drum?
reply
Trust your gut on this one. Maybe he's smart, maybe not but he is E.V.I.L.
Or not. Time will tell. That's what I see and feel though.

Is Tesla even a viable business without government subsidies?
Will Tesla remain viable if competing Chinese EVs are not slapped with massive trade obstructing tariffs?
Musk makes and builds things in America ~ against all the odds - perhaps he can enable a return to productive US enterprise by stripping down some of the red tape and tax that is killing productive businesses?
A radical change in culture is needed - more of the same non productive fiat pumped into non productive asset price speculation will not fix the mess the wests manufacturing sector is in.
Sack all the parasitic rentseeking financialising lawyers and bankers - prioritise engineering, efficiency, infrastructure and productivity.

Elon is in another league, I think we will never be able to know his true intentions, everything he does is for personal benefit! That's what I think! Let's hope he's not a villain.
reply
I definitely see him a villain. It will all work out though.

A while ago I found a pretty interesting thread on "X" that is quite conspiratorial. They talk about a lot of things that make us think about many things, and it is centered on Elon. You already see him as a villain directly, I'm sure you will enjoy reading it.

I already know how I feel. Focusing on that kind of thing doesn't serve me. While I probably would agree with the sentiment, I don't like conspiracy rabbit holes. It only feeds darkness. I know what I know because I can read people. Maybe that sounds stupid but my intuition always guides me well.

Please excuse my ignorance secondary to hazing, I still have a lot to learn inside the Bitcoin rabbit hole, so there are "personalities" within Bitcoin that I don't know about. But what I have learned in this time is that the libertarian idea associated with Bitcoin has nothing to do with governments, whatever their tendency. No government will really do anything in favor of Bitcoin, because Bitcoin is a lace in the shoe of the banks and the banks are the prostitutes of the governments.
I am not surprised that Elon has Bitcoin, CZ Binance also has them and Russia mines and the Chinese make mining machines and the North Koreans hack to have Bitcoin and so on. What surprises me is that someone being a Bitcoiner lends himself to the games of clowns like Elon and governments. But I am more surprised that other Bitcoiners see in this an opportunity for Bitcoin when we know that it will not be like that. If they have Bitcoin it is because Bitcoin is first real money and second the more they have, the less we will have that we truly embrace Bitcoin.
So my repeated apologies for my rookie ignorance. But fuck Elon Musk, Trump and those who prostitute themselves with them.
reply
No ignorance at all, but I think you know that. Most of us agree with you.
reply
Thank you for your words, I respect people like you who I see work hard for the Bitcoiner community. If I had a somewhat gothic reaction, you know what I mean, it is because those of us who have suffered or are suffering from communism do not want anything to do with governments. But I know about the libertarian idea of this community.
