After 47 years of operation, NASA sends a shutdown to Voyager 2 which has been sending communication to Earth within a distance of 2 billion kilometres. This shutdown was done to handle the spacecraft’s electrical power source being gradually reduced. In 1977, the Voyager 2 was launched. In addition to discovering new planetary moons, it was the first spacecraft to sail by the two planets, Uranus and Neptune.

So from what I’m hearing no Voyager 2 isn’t shut down. They turned off another instrument something they have done with each voyager but no it has not shut down.

Voyager 2 has enough power to keep running one science instrument into the 2030s, but doing that requires selecting which of its other instruments need to be turned off.
