The sad part is that those floppies were already obsolete in 1998 and we were using the smaller more durable 1.44mb. Of course the really sorry zip drives were coming out then, too and it is good that they didn't use those.
From 1995 to 2000 in the Army National Guard we used the 1.44MB for our Light Tactical Fire systems. Light meant that a helicopter could lift it up.
