Yes it does, in the most strict sense: time spent on this things, with the intent of achieving something, actively prevents you from actually achieving it, all the while there are actual ways to do everything you can think of. And that's the thing: anything you can think of achieving with any kind of supernatural powers is always achievable orders of magnitude in excess by non-supernatural means. Think about anything, and you will find it's always true.
