From what I remember, he didnt want to pay rent on his brick and mortar building because he thought rent was too high. For twitter. Something about the legal case would bankrupt the building owners? I think they eventually came to an agreement.

That makes sense. Land lords were pretty desperate to retain tenants, so I'm not surprised Elon took advantage of that to get his rent reduced.

It was a perfect moment in time. Now everyone is returning back to the office, he would probably have a hard time doing that.
