You may be surprised how far back in time it runs. Also, who put both the fear and the programming in place. It sure wasn’t us. That is why you have to overcome your fears.
Sure, once you get the whole picture there is no fear, only doing - and even though its soooo tempting going out guns blazing is still better to be a bit tactical ;-)
When you deal with a certain type of people there is no direct way, at least not yet...

I don’t even bother with arguing with people that cannot think logically or independently. It is just wasting my breath. There is a saying, “When a drunk and a fool argue, how do you know who is whom.’

The only problem is that there are no one like that in my immediate meatspace here haha...
We do have lots of cats, though, and I respect them way more than most bipeds I've met!
Especially our 3-legged male, he's brave and curious, totally doing his part from protecting kittens to making sure there is a hierarchy hehe

You’re lucky not to have drunks and fools around to argue with. Oh, and cats don’t seem to be able to argue back at all, If you piss them off you get the claw or just a hiss. If mad enough they do a nice job of shredding a hand or leg.

Random cats that don't know nor respect you might do that for sure!
But my experience has been the opposite, probably because I've had the time and opportunity to really relate to them, from tending to Tigers half bitten off paw as a kitten to now having a relationship with Moopaa with his three legs and no self pity or insecurity hehe!
Also when I simply take for granted that they are both rational, fair and proud in natural ways then they respect me, and most days there is harmony ;-)
And when that is not the case, they would never dare touching me in any way! That has worked well even when intervening in vicious cat fights hehe
